Seems like Huerter's bounce back occurred against backups and non rotation guys, is that accurate?

I absolutely love what D Hunter is doing right now. Low usage guy who just makes winning plays. He has solidified his spot as a starter in my book:

Reddish is undoubtedly the most talented of the young wing players, but D Hunter is clearly the most polished. Dude has been really efficient this season:

In 8 December Games thus far:

Avg 11 ppg 5 rpg on 35% shooting from 3-pt range.

Do you still view Reddish as role player off the bench with a Covington ceiling?
(This was from the Reddish thread on the GB board that someone bumped today)

Cam has shown flashes of star potential. I’m still not sold he reaches that full potential...or worse, reaches it with us.

In year two he’s already achieved Covington levels of effectiveness and production. So he clearly projects higher than RC long term.

With that said...he’s avg 12 points and (IMO) should still be coming off the bench.

Who do you think should start? Bogi who's averaging 13 points and not as good defensively?

Bogi is more polished. And I don’t believe Travis signed him to be a $18 million backup.

Well so far he has been the backup. Travis also signed Gallo to be a $20 million backup.
I think Cam's ability to guard a player like Ja Morant in one game, then switch to Durant in another is why he starts, particularly next to Trae. His offense has been inconsistent but that's expected. He's still doing enough offensively and even more defensively to have earned LPs trust as the starter.
I didn't expect him to start but I have no complaints so far.

I need Cam to shoot better than 40% from the field if he’s going to start. He has the worst FG% of all the starters.

And Bogi avg more points and assists in fewer mpg. With better shooting splits across the board.

Cam will get there, but I don’t believe he’s ready yet.

Yes, Cam has to be better offensively across the board. Someone has to have the worst FG%. If Bogi starts who has the worst FG%? I'm guessing it would be Bogi (haven't looked).
Cam (29.2) is averaging less than 1 minute more than Bogi (28.4), so that's negligible. Cam has played a total of 4 more minutes than Bogi thus far, 48 seconds per game more.
From what we've seen so far, offense won't be the problem.
On defense, that's where Cam exceeds Bogi and helps Trae - I think that's more important.

Shooting 39% from the field at any level of basketball is bad.

We’re built to be an offensive juggernaut. Bogi is out producing Cam coming off the bench. It’s reasonable to expect his offense to increase if given more first team reps.

The defensive specialist can come off the bench until he reaches at least league average shooting efficiency.

What's the point of your defensive specialist not guarding starters like Ja and Durant. Why would you have him playing against the bench?
Meanwhile you would have Bogi guarding Morant and Kyrie?
We maybe built to be an offensive juggernaut but it still needs to be balanced with adequate defense, if we can't stop anyone like in the 1st Nets game it will be a shootout to see who misses first. It'll win you regular season games, but not playoff games.
I'd rather have the offensive growing pains now, while he gives the team the defensive presence it needs.

Cam isn't just a defensive specialist. A lot of the pressure he puts on the defense has value offensively even if he's not efficient. Bogi offers more offensively but with Trae, he doesn't get touches and his defensive value is average.

Bogi gets a lot more touches with Kevin and the 2nd unit. Jamaal showcasing one star BBIQ right now. Cam is by far the best fit starting right now of the three SGs. Kevin offensively fit Trae the best but is a horrible fit defensively. Bogi just doesn't fit starting with Trae due to touches and he can't get in rhythm and it's not like Trae will limit his touches for Bogi.

Cam might suffer with rhythm with Trae in the starting lineup but his defense is exceptional. We put him on the best offensive player, and his value to us winning games is exceptional. Saying he needs to come off the bench to improve efficiency is showing you lack BBIQ into how we play and are winning games.

:dontknow:

I'm pretty sure bench players can guard starters too over the course of a 48 minute game.
