This is what we need to do with Cam ath this point. Just send him down to the minors and let him dominate there, ironing out the holes in his game before getting sent back to the big league rotation.

Might be a good idea. Let's see what Nate can do with him. He looked so much better at the end of last season and he's on the record as one of the players unhappy with LP. Maybe the change is all he needs to get back on track

This what is so frustrating about Cam Reddish for me right now. Mediocre NBA journeymen without 1/4 the talent of Cam are able to contribute positively to this team by playing within their limitations...but Cam can't even match that?

Just minimize what we're asking Cam to do and let him grow into a potentially elite role player for now. That has more value than the poo poo platter of inconsistency he's shown for most of his post-HS career.

I also blame the coaching staff for continually forcing Cam into roles he wasn't ready, instead of leaning on veteran role players to pick up the slack. (Cam should have never been starting this season.)

I'm overdue for a hot take, so here I go.

It's clear that coaching was holding us back. A steadier hand at the HC position has us looking like the solid, playoff caliber team we thought we'd be coming in.

Injuries also played a part.

But one aspect I can't help but come back to...Cam Reddish as starter. He's been so bad offensively, and the team's spacing stagnated with him on the floor. Tony Snell is nowhere the talent that Cam is, but the team has thrived with him in the starting five. Ditto for DeAndre Hunter when he was healthy.

Even Kevin Huerter has stepped up as a starter.

I can't help but notice that the team improved greatly without Lloyd Pierce...and without Cam Reddish.

NOTE: I'm not giving up on the kid, but I want him nowhere near the starting lineup when he's healthy. He isn't ready and I'm exhausted watching him being forced into the rotation.

I hope he's benched and assigned a role as defensive specialist for the rest of the season.

Tony Snell has been an underated move by Schlenk. (Trading Dedmon for him raised a lot of questions on here when it happened). He has filled in much better than expected.

Trae clearly trusts Snell late in games, and Snell has merited it. To be honest, the 29-year-old is having one of the most remarkable shooting seasons in NBA history. While it is not a high volume of attempts, Snell leads the NBA in three-point percentage at 56.8 percent. Kyle Korver set the NBA record with Utah in 2009-10 when he made 53.6 percent.

A career 39 percent three-point shooter, Snell has always been an excellent shooter, but what he is doing this season is without precedent.

As spicy as his shooting is, Snell sees time on the court for what he can do defensively. Standing at 6-foot-6 with a nearly 7-foot wingspan, Snell uses his size and savvy to take on some of the Hawks' most difficult defensive assignments. When he is off the ball, he positions himself well to lend help and deny passing lanes, and when he rotates to the rim, you might mistake him for an interior big man with how well he protects the paint.

These are not, perhaps, the most interesting or fascinating things that happen on a basketball court, but they do impact winning, and they do set a strong example for the younger Hawks. To wit: literally every person interviewed for this story used the word "pro" unprompted when describing Snell.

"He's a great pro. He works every day and brings a lot of energy and enthusiasm every day. He's always very positive for everybody. He just does the little things that a lot of times don't show up in the stat sheet, but he does all of the little things that are required to win the game."

"He always has a smile on his face. He's the true definition of a pro. He comes in, he gets his work in, he's always on time."

"He doesn't say too much, but he always speaks in the right moments and always gives us good knowledge when he sees it," Trae said. "It's good having a vet like him on our team."

With Hunter hurt, i don't know why Hill has gotten more minutes and not Snell in the Sixers and Bucks series?

Good question, as I'd have imagined the opposite. Snell was a bit better at everything this season. The only thing I see is that Hill played SF and PF in the season and McMillan may prefer that to adjust, but he was not better than Snell at SF, and was not efficient at PF.

There isn't a bigger Hill hater than me, but as bad as he's been I'm pretty sure Tony Snell hasn't hit a single shot he's taken in the playoffs. Completely useless.

That's also right, even if I think he got no role at all, while Hill got one, especially once Hunter was out. McMillan picked Hill over Snell for some reasons.

The great debate here in Hawks-land:

Read on Twitter

For now, I think it should be Hunter, Huerter then Reddish. All three have been dazzling at times—Reddish has loads of potential, and was lights-out with 21 points in the Hawks’ season-ending loss to Milwaukee—but Reddish has been less consistent offensively, with fewer of those moments than the other two.
With so many young, intriguing pieces, though, the Hawks could likely piece together one of the league’s more intriguing packages for someone like a Bradley Beal, a player that would give them a legitimate second star to pair with Young…

Debate?
Hunter has just had 2 knee surgeries, Cam is inconsistent, Huerter has been all around solid. Bogi might be the one to move. Hawks have options.
