I agree with you. I simply wish we'd brought him along slowly, easing him into a larger role along the way.

This isn't a particularly controversial stance...nor is it a new one from me.

(Amusingly, your two friends, seemed about ready to have a stroke over the smallest bit of Reddish-related criticism.)

Naah, no stroke.
I just remember you wanting to relegate John Collins to the GLeague to 'take him down a notch' since he exploded in Summer League. You know, make sure he didn't get too big for his britches.

Precisely...I'd like to see every young player spend the first few months in a limited role.

G-League, off the bench -- even no Playing Time, just getting reps with the coaches in practice. I believe in young guys being over-prepared at the start of their career...instead of 'in over their heads'.

Oh, don't mind us. We know you 'clutch the pearls' every time something happens, lil' ol' lady jam.

Nothing wrong with some healthy homer-ism w.r.t. our prospects. We all know the reality of the situation(s).

Is there a point where we think Schlenk got lucky with the Collins pick at 19? Because every other pick could be easily second guessed...hoping I'm wrong...

Great playoffs but we're good with what we got.

Recognize context.

:D

Every off season old players retire and are replaced with new draft picks and young, undrafted players. Hawks had VC retire and no one else on the entire roster is that old. We are good with what we've got and what we're going to have.

Next season is still a long way in the future. Yet, we remember starting the season with that great bench and then, the 25 games lost to one of our starters.

Adding Capela with 4 returning starters - - Things just look better !!

I refuse to put stock in ANY bubble performances until/unless they prove they can do it in front of 20,000 screaming fans and with the rigors of NBA travel and off court distractions.
