New Hawks - New season..

:D

We hear rumors that the new season will begin in December. It's been so long since we have watched our Hawks that we may have forgotten who and what we have.

Remember, when our last season was about to begin? Compare that roster to the one we have today. And, then we consider the fact that there is still the draft this year. If the Hawks do nothing else, we should be much, much better.

Our youth now have another year's experience. Collins is not expected to miss 25 games this season. We have two new, old Hawks that have been Hawks for a while. We have never watched them play as Hawks and we expect good things from them. We finally have the center position well covered with Dedmon and Capela. We expect our other new, big man, Skal Labissiere to play either back up center or power forward. However, watching his hi light films, in one game he was mentioned as playing guard! Impossible you say? Strange things have been known to happen.

Reading about our mini workout this fall, we are told that Cam Reddish has had some extra work with Lloyd P. Coach said that he is bigger, taller and stouter than he was at season's end! Still a growing boy! He and Hunter enter this season with some experience and now know what the grind of NBA life is about.

With Vince Carter retiring, Hawks average age fell like a rock. Add our draft pick, whoever he is, and we should be one of the younger NBA teams. All our expected starting five are NBA youth, growing as the season progresses. The great veteran leadership that VC brought last season will be sorely missed. Someone must step up.

New Hawks to watch! New hopes and dreams about what may lay in our future. A giant step expected!

GO ATL HAWKS !!

8-)

I think we follow in the Braves footsteps and surprise some people. Looking forward to the 2020-2021 campaign as I have the last 35 years and counting, with extreme optimism.

Go Hawks!

Been Hawksfan since the early 70's myself. Most optimistic I've ever been. Got to give the youg team 3-4 years to develop and become a dynasty. In TS I trust

It appears that the Hawks are going to trade some youth to improve now.

The #6 pick has ALWAYS been on the table. You just need value for it. It has to make sense. I'm not interested in trading it for any 1 year rentals alone.

No team is going to move a star young player on contact for more than 2 years for the 6th pick. Unless that player just flat out came out and demanded a trade. Even then you would probably have to add cam, and one of Hunter or Huerter.

So it probably is going to be a trade that you will not like.

Nowhere did I say 'star young player' - I said Value. And I specifically said a player on an expiring deal. There is a middle ground in there.
You should take a look at my response to the DeRozan trade idea in the Trade Ideas thread (before your response).

News flash! Hawks have finally built their team - a good starting five and some extra pieces. Atlanta is not now going to tear up what we have and change everything.

GO ATL HAWKS !!

I think Atlanta still lacks a quality starting 2 guard and a backup PG. also could use more depth at PF. Most importantly need a true #2 offensive playmaker.
