Couldn't be more timely.
Few have been more skeptical, and yes at times "critical," of their Hawks beat writer, Chris Kirschner. He seemed when he first took the job to be such a self-promoter (but then again, to be fair, that's part of the Athletic's business model), and I wasn't willing to presume that in the space of just a few weeks or months that he could possibly have forged the relationships necessary to have the insider insight that he presumed to have in how he wrote what he wrote.
Something over a year later, for what it matters, he's persuaded me to trust he has those relationships.
So, yeah, I cringe anytime any reporter uses their profession-driven Tweet follower list to distribute/promote/advocate their religious beliefs to those who didn't sign up for that (Chouinard being the worst)... but I have come to respect the job Kirschner does when he's doing his job.
