20. Atlanta Hawks – Jaden Springer (G, Tennessee)

By the time the draft gets here, Springer could end up in the lottery. Mainstream observers are seemingly catching up to what Draft Twitter has been saying for a while in that Springer checks a lot of intriguing boxes. In Atlanta, he could unleash his high-end defensive projection alongside Trae Young while helping with the secondary creation load and not having to do too much in his first year or two.

I would be very happy if we ended up with Springer at #20.

Springer could be this year's version of Jimmy Butler or Tony Allen

Hoping for Duarte or Tre Mann, but I wouldn't rule out a move up for Kai Jones.

Mann would be a great pickup as a combo guard off the bench and backup PG. Duarte would be a pretty good guard off the bench as a shooter and somewhat as a back up PG as well. Our guard depth would be too good with either one. Kai Jones though would be a real get. Could really take over in the front court if he develops, and gives us a strong lineup with the things he can do. Especially if he can space the floor consistently.

I love all three of these options — my top selections between the guys likely available at #20.

(Duarte is at the top of that list.)

Duarte would blend in well with us. He reminds me of Rudy Fernandez a bit. He’s got a bit of everything and a nice corner pocket 3 ball.

Seems like a good kid. Guessing he will be easily gone before we pick at 20, maybe 10-15 for the Gidster.

This definitely makes it seem like we aren't keeping the pick:

Another pick that doesn’t change. Johnson’s range is seen as very wide on draft night. He’ll be in the mix starting in the late lottery on down toward the mid-20s. It’s easy to see why he’s a polarizing prospect for teams. Some love his athletic upside and see him as a real potential offensive playmaker. Others just strongly believe that he’s not going to shoot it, and that he’s a bit too loose with the ball. I’ve heard anywhere from top 10 to mid-20s for Johnson from teams. But unfortunately, someone just kind of has to fall on draft night. In this iteration of the mock, Johnson is one of those fallers. The Hawks can afford to take a flier on a guy here given their depth across all positions of the court.

I really like Houston and GSW's drafts.

Bouknight to Charlotte feels like a really big deal. That back court is gonna put up points. They won't be able to guard anyone...but they'll put constant pressure on opposing wings.
