I wonder what this will look like in about three years. Have the impression that a bunch of young Hawks are gonna move on up. Heck Trae is already regular all-star level and JC finge AS
This classification should be based on potential, not where they are now. Silly to put HOF unless you're talking potential. Trae just had a season that only one other player had ever had. Seems like you're rating him a bit low

Fwiw, since it's been brought up... the hierarchy is an attempt to improve on this one I'd seen someone else post on some site somewhere last week...

(And indeed, it would be interesting to compare Hawks' fans guesses about potential. From where I sit, though, it's inherently at least going to be easier to find agreement about current status.)

Every player still young enough to be on their parents' health insurance should be characterized by where they project, not where they are.

Both are valid considerations. Not just one. And current is, again, more grounded, whereas potential is significantly more an eye-of-the-beholder matter.
Me, I'd welcome seeing anyone's attempt at a classification chart based on potential as they see it.
