Kings vs. Hawks preview: Final game before the NBA trade deadlineThe Sacramento Kings are back home for the first time in two weeks to take on the red-hot Atlanta Hawks
The Kings have won three out of their last four games and are 3.5 games out of a play-in spot going into the season's stretch drive. Sacramento is coming off a 119-105 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, when rookie Tyrese Haliburton scored a career-high 28 points.
The Kings have been better defensively over their past four games. They’re giving up 112.2 points per game during the 3-1 stretch, 7.0 points less than their season average. Haliburton’s insertion into the starting lineup in place of the injured Marvin Bagley III has made Sacramento more versatile on the defensive end.
Over the past nine games, Atlanta is leading the league in opponents’ field goal percentage (42.5) and second in points allowed at 101.4, an 11.7-point improvement from when Lloyd Pierce was manning the sidelines.
This is the final game for both teams before the NBA trade deadline. NBA insiders say that the Kings and Hawks have been active on the trade front, and a potential deal involving young forward John Collins has been discussed.

Dikembe Mutombo's nephew, Mfiondu Kabengele was acquired from the Clippers, so I hope the Kings let him play tonight.

Everytime I see this photo of Snell, I can't help but chuckle.
It's clear Tony Snell was not excited after being traded to the Hawks.

Was disappointing but what I like is even in road losses this team is in almost every game with at least a chance to win.
I think they will get even better when they find a set rotation. That has been tough with injuries and new faces this season. I think they are going 10-11 deep in some games. In the future that could be cut to the top 9.

Not completely, this one is a bit hard on the possibility to finish 4/8 on this road trip, as it was the "must win" game, but I had two other games on my list where they need to push as hard as possible :
GSW and SAS, because even if they are supposed to be better than SAC, they will be both on the second game of back-to-back

Player of the game. It seems he always steps up when facing off against Trae.

Glad I didn't bother staying up to see them blow this.

Just imagine if they were on the same team in the same backcourt.

17 points in the 3rd was our downfall and our defense couldn't stop them.
