Milwaukee Bucks vs. Atlanta Hawks Preview

Milwaukee ends a stretch of 9 road games out of 10

Image

Milwaukee now sits just one game behind the Brooklyn Nets for the two seed. The subplot going into this next matchup is, of course, the botched Bogdan Bogdanovic trade. Bogdanovic is back from his injury and has been on a scoring parade. The Hawks have shot up the standings since firing Lloyd Pierce as head coach and elevating Nate McMillan. They now sit in the 4th seed and will be likely battling it out with the likes of Boston, the Knicks and Miami for the rest of the season.

Bucks are on the second half of a Back-to-Back after a convincing win in Minnesota.

They might actually lose in these jerseys, and Milwaukee had to travel in..

I kinda wish Trae hadn't played tonight The Hawks offense (and defense) have been humming without him. I can't help but wonder how the Bogdan-led Hawks would have fared tonight.

Bogi doesn’t shoot great off the dribble. So having the ball in Lou or Trae’s hands make sense. Trae just has to not always try to be the star and pass the ball more. He shouldn’t have taken 17 shots.

Bucks got us tonight but we didn’t have Collins, Gallo and Hunter. Bounce back against Nate’s old Pacers on Sunday.

Bogi and Cap are phenomenal. Trae missed some floaters but I’m not worried, get the missed out now instead of the playoffs.

Go Hawks!

Don't agree with that. Every shot Trae took was a good shot, he just missed them. Pretty much all floaters within 10 feet. Those are A+ looks for Trae. Then he hoisted a bunch at the end when they were down big and desperate.

The real problem was Trae sitting out a week with a BS calf bruise. Who the F sits out a game for a bruise, let alone a week? Today's NBA softee, that's who. He learned last night you can't just sit out a week for no good reason and come back and expect to pick up where you left off. Hopefully his crap shooting will keep him from taking time off for nonsense in the future.

All that tells me is, as usual, Budz had no adjustment for what was happening in the game. If it "worked" why was Trae in the lane all night? The floaters he missed were largely uncontested. If he'd had even a decent shooting night .....

Be honest, @jamallo, it warms your cold, ded heart to hear me goin' at Budz doesn't it?

Yeah, I agree with the first part.

Sacto, him taking 17 shots last night wasn't an indication that he was playing selfishly. The first half, he was finding teammates quite well. Surprisingly, the TNT broadcast picked up on that and actually complimented him on his floor game.

His floater wasn't falling but they were largely uncontested shots that typically go down at a respectable rate. No issue with those shots.

The part where I'll push back (some), shakes, is that I think he's actually hurting. He seemed off just like the SAS game where he was clearly playing hurt.

I hear you on the sawft NBA, for sure, but Trae hasn't been one to sit out games for "rest" - that's where I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

KG, I'm just trying to show Trae the same tough love I showed Huerter a couple weeks ago that led to him turning his season around.

Just one of those nights. Trae was going against a pretty darn good defender.
