Philly vs Atlanta -- Game 6: Tomorrow Never Dies

Hawks look for series win at home vs. 76ers in Game 6

Image

The Atlanta Hawks, somehow, simply have to win one game on their home floor to return to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2015. After massive comebacks in both Game 5 and Game 6, the Hawks have the Philadelphia 76ers on the ropes, holding a 3-2 lead as the series returns to Atlanta.

The Hawks trailed by 25 points with just over three minutes left in the third quarter of Game 5, yet somehow fought all the way back for what could potentially be a season defining win. After all, the Hawks were 14-20 on March first, and here they sit, one game from an Eastern Conference Finals appearance.

Philadelphia blew an 18-point lead in Game 4, and is now in a must-win situation with their season on the line. After meltdowns in the fourth quarter in back-to-back games, they will be desperate to close strong with a win to force a Game 7.

anyone not voting for Trae in the poll deserves to have their fan card taken away.

I REALLY wanted to vote for Trae and TS but ultimately it came down to: if TS hadn't assembled the team we have and made the moves that he did then we never would have even made it to the playoffs in the first place. Trae is incredible but he can't do it alone with a team of scrubbs as we have witnessed the past 3 years. So yes Trae should get all of the credit for winning these games, but if you've been a Hawks fan for as long as I have, then you know the struggles of all the bone headed moves of our past GMs. So I have to tip my hat to TS for making all of this happen in the first place. As a side note Nate comes in a at a very close 3rd place as he has made an incredible turnaround happen.

it's a circular argument. TS got all those pieces, but all those pieces and no Trae and this team isn't in the playoffs. Of course he also got Trae so does any credit going to Trae have to go to TS instead? As for Nate, he is great but ask yourself this. If we have Trae and a different coach (not Pierce) are we still in the same place? maybe. But if we have Nate but no Trae the answer isn't maybe, it's most definitely not.

I do like that Jamaal is continuing his streak of really stupid polls to 2. We won last game with a really stupid poll, we can win this game with a really stupid poll!

Save them bombs for Joel Embiid, homey . There's a chance he's more mentally weak than Ben Simmons...

If we get out to a quick lead we might start hearing 1-2-3 Cancun coming from the Philly bench as early as the 2nd quarter.

Lou producing for us game five made the trade worth it to me. He put us on his back when we needed him the most.

I still don't understand how you guys got picks in that deal

But I just wanted to say I have some solid crow to eat on Trae. I thought he'd be a clear plus in the playoffs due to his great offense, but that it would be limited due to his defense. Now Philly and NYK aren't the strongest guards in the playoffs, but you can only play the guys in front of you and boy has he! Trae has been sooooo good this playoff run! Glad your team was able to put things together and capitalize on a solid offseason at the right time. Pulling for you guys to come out of the East.

We lost this game because of Fraudonovich, Lou Williams and FT shooting. Pathetic effort from anyone not named Trae Young.

We wasted an all time performance from Trae. Though he did sporadically fall into hero-ball moments.

We needed a second option to pick up the slack. Huerter was up for it in the first half.

No one was capable in the second half.

Bogdan’s been taking a beating the entire postseason. We’ll need a big game from him and Trae Sunday.

Game 7, here we come.
We needed someone to join Trae, Huerter did for the 1st half. Then nothing in the 2nd.
Now, with Bogi with a knee injury - makes it even tougher.
GO HAWKS!
