Bogi and Huerter are out of sync, I'll chalk it up to their offseason procedures knee and ankle respectively.
Capela looks a little sluggish - the achilles injury and missing the preseason might be the culprit.
We go as JC goes, being in foul jail is problematic, it mucks up the starting unit, also seems like Bogi is deferring to Hunter.
Trae is Trae and he will never get another foul call. But he's developing a nice midrange shot to counter.

someone other than Trae needs to hit a F-ing shot on the road. I was gonna suggest benching Bogi for Huerter, but they both suck right now.


One thing I am absolutely sick of seeing is when one of our players catches a pass and is wide open for 3, but doesn't shoot. No, instead they square up and pump fake and wait for the defender to close out. And then they pump fake again and then they settle for a contested 3. WTF is that nonsense and why do we have guys who do that multiple times per game. SHoot the F-ing ball when you are wide open and don't F-ing hesitake. And if you are going to play like an idiot and pass up that open shot then DRIVE the ball to the basket when the defender closes the gap, stop F-ing settling for hotly contested 3s. I can't disagree with any of this, honestly. Kevin/Bogd are both on the struggle copter. Seem to be over-thinking.

Apparently the league has decided, every foul they don't give to Trae will now be pinned on John Collins on the other end. It's ridiculous. Folks think Hawks fan will be outraged about Trae not getting calls. No, it's Collins that's drawing ire for me.

So everybody in the league gets to play with "force" and be physical, but when Collins winks at dudes it's a foul? Is he somehow exempt from the "new" rules?

Lastly, I know I'm not the only one that saw ThIngram get put in D-bloc on that last possession. Hunter is the man on D.

It's funny. I do like that the games are moving quicker. But I feel like folks are waaaay too giddy about the physical play.

There are many reasons the late 90's-2000's are considered a terrible era of basketball. Why would we want to go back to that? Freaking 70-80 point games. Shooting percentages plummeting. They're making it easier to play bad defense. How is that a good thing?

I agree they needed to reel things in a bit but what we're seeing right now isn't sustainable. Honestly, it reeks of revenge being taken out on players who are now a little too .... not sure how to put it ... 'aware' of themselves.

There's an alarmingly high number of fans who think players need to be 'put in their place'. Maybe I'm going a little too far, but I feel like the foul stuff is just the beginning of chairmen "taking back control" over the league/players.

I can't f-ing stand him. he is the biggest player apologist condescending know it all **** I've ever heard. And his whiny voice sucks. I end up switching to country music anytime he is on the radio. Refs should only keep the logic of the sport.
A defender has to stay in his own cylinder, if he's going to the opponent, it's a foul. He can jump if he wants, as long as it's in his own cylinder, it's OK. And on this case, I appreciate to see big guys being able to do that in the paint and not getting called for a foul, something refs were not doing these last years. When you were in the restricted area, some refs would call an automatic foul, while it was just that there can't get a charge in this area (action continues), not an automatic foul.
Now, if the defender stays in his own cylinder, the offensive player shooting doesn't have to land on him. Some were searching too much for these contacts these last years, but once they will see that refs are not giving foul for that, they will stop to try that. If you're the one reducing the distance, you don't have to get a FTs.

Now, if you're moving, on penetration, just look at who's closing in on the other. That's all.
What I don't like is that refs are extremist. When a rule is adjusted, they go on the extreme side of the rule. When it's adjusted again, they go the extreme opposite side. While they just have to follow the logic of the game.
Nobody wants a game where it's too much easy to get to the FT line, nor a game without any fouls, they just have to be fair between offense and defense.
