Hawks face tough road test vs. Celtics

The Atlanta Hawks will be back on the road Tuesday evening in what will be another big Eastern Conference matchup vs. the Boston Celtics. The Hawks come in 5.5 games behind the Celtics for the No. 6 seed in the East heading into play on Tuesday. Boston has won eight of their last ten games as they continue to be a much better team than what they showed early in the season.

The Hawks are 2-1 vs. Boston in 2021-22, looking to pick up the season series win on Tuesday night in their final game vs. the Celtics this season. Atlanta has won three of their last four games as they look to make a push up the East standings during the final stretch of the regular season.

Atlanta will be looking to build off of the momentum they picked up in a blowout victory over the Toronto Raptors at home on Saturday night. The Hawks are just two games ahead of the Washington Wizards for the final play-in spot, so each game is huge from this point forward. The Celtics give up the second fewest points per game in the conference, while Atlanta has the third-highest scoring offense.

The last meeting was Feb 13, 2022, BOS 105 - ATL 95.

Boston had 50 points in the paint to our 36.
Boston had 18 fast break points to our 5
Biggest lead of the game was the Hawks 15pts.

Watched the first half, not a good offense movement but it's against the best defense in this moment, and at least, they take their time. Good shooting and... good defense! And they play like they want to win!
It's the first time in a long time I watch a good first half live, so I will stop here and watch the second half in replay tomorrow.

Indeed. I hope he gets fully healthy this summer.

We'll likely try to ink him to an extension this offseason -- and we'll be hoping to get a serious discount based on his injury history and recent struggles.

So... I watched the second half in replay and I don't know if I'm happy to not have seen this nightmare live, or if I shouldn't have watched the first half live.

My biggest disappointment is Hunter : I'm not sure, but it strange to play like that while being eligible to extension starting this summer.
The only thing that can explain that he's that he's playing with the fear of being injured again

NOTE : on the last 10 games, only Bogi (+17.1), Gallo (+10.1), Okongwu (+7.6) and Wright (+4.4) have positive Net Rating
In this game : Gallo has negative +/- with -9 but playing with the starters, while Okongwu has +10, Bogi +6 and Wright +4
Starters : Huerter has -8, Hunter -11... Clint -16 and Trae -17

I also checked the Efficiency difference on last 10 games:
Starters: 27th of the league with -18.8
Bench: 1st of the league with +19.1*

I will watch again the start of this second half to try to understand what happened.
Don't tell me that Nate can't motivate them by just saying "We are in BOS, one the best teams in the league right now, they will come back for a fight in the second half, so even if there's a 14pts lead, forget about that and play like it's tied or it's a 24 minutes game we have to win!"

Having said that, can’t be up 50-33, then 65-51 and allow them to come and dominate the 2nd half and fold. Can’t happen. Nate and Hunter need a look in the mirror.
