Hawks look for third straight win as road trip continues in Detroit

Image

The Atlanta Hawks will continue their road trip Monday evening with a matchup against the Detroit Pistons. Atlanta (31-32) will have a chance to get back to .500 with a win in this one. The Pistons (17-47) are in the midst of a rebuilding season, but Cade Cunningham and company have looked better of late. Detroit is 5-5 in their last ten games, and rides a modest two-game win streak heading into Monday’s action.

Atlanta is 6-4 in their last ten games, looking to improve on their 12-19 road record. With the Brooklyn Nets and Charlotte Hornets both off on Monday, a win would put Atlanta up to the No. 8 seed heading into Tuesday’s action, when the Nets and Hornets play each other. While nothing in the NBA is a given, the Hawks are strong favorites to take care of business in Detroit on Monday evening.

They have to take this game very seriously.
No way they let Bey score 35pts like a lot of SG torching us in some previous games, unless it's a decision to let one taking all the shots and they stop the other guys. But please, don't let these three guys score more than 20pts each and play a offensive battle against them.
Defense is needed and they need to work on that, so it's time to work.

Not a good game.
With a minute left in the game we're down by one point. Get the win

We better make some moves this off season. I don't want to see this same team next season. What a disappointment.

Isn't it time for Travis to give his weekly presser? Time for another rant.

I did not see the game but looking at the play by play did we have a chance to win with 1.6 seconds and miss a FT?

It comes back to what I said one or two weeks ago : they would be better with Trae between 25 and 30 each game than scoring 40pts in one game than 15 or 20pts.
Added to going from one of the best +/- in a W to one of, if not the, worst +/- in a L. It's franchise player, he can't be the worst +/- of any game like that.
But it may not be his fault, it may come from coaching, but : Net Rating on the last 10 games
Trae and John have no impact on average (actually, Trae has very high in W, and very low in L, even in a close game like Vs DET)
Image

5th time they L a game that would bring them to .500, unbelievable! And Vs of bottom East team. Once again, they come like the game is already win, and then realize the other team comes to win and play better than they thought.
And this, after what they show last season, is now a coaching problem.

They had the lead at 100-99 with 1.6s left, and called a foul on Bogi which was discutable, and he's fouled out.
Cunningham hits two FTs.
ATL takes Time out, inbound and foul on Collins with still 1.6s left. John hit only the second so 101-101. -> OT

Yeah that is what I thought I saw in the play by play on yahoo. I really like John Collins. That is a shame.
