Simmons and/or D'Angelo Russell? Both? None?

Post#1 » by myrak433 » Sat May 14, 2022 1:52 am

I am on my kick again. Last offseason I was high on the Hawks making a run for Lavine or derozan (mostly Lavine).

This offseason I am thinking a trade for Simmons or Russell, or both. I am not sure of eithers value. I believe both value are lowish.
I am thinking one of Bogi or Huerter, one of Collins or Hunter, plus Hawks 2022 1st and pick from NYC in Reddish trade (and that is the package for both).

line up
Trea/ Wright
Russell / Bogi or Huerter
Simmons / Hunter or Bogi or FA
Collins or Big O / FA
Capela / Big O / Dieng

You have 3 people that can be on ball and play make in the starting lineup. Simmons could play the Draymond Green roll. Russell could be the score when teams double and trap Trae. Bogi or Huerter can be the shooter.

I'm still on board with acquiring Simmons. The potential payoff is high, and his trade value is at an all time low.

I'd go for it.

D Russell? Meh. I'd take him or leave him.

I would 100% buy low on Simmons. At least I think he can anchor a defense.

Russell can't defend and has a big contract, not sure how I feel about him. I can't see him as the third best player on a championship team

What do you consider a buy low amount?
