And he doesn't run off screens or move without the ball very well. Big part of the problem.
I agree Trae doesn't move enough off ball, but question:
Who is setting these screens? Can he run off a screen if no one is setting one for him, is there a play designed for him to do that?

All fair questions, young lady.

The good news for the Hawks is that their biggest concern is not what usually has been their biggest concern: defense. Entering Thursday, the team was 12th in defensive rating at 111, which is a monumental leap from 26th (113.7) last season. But equally stunning is that Trae Young has struggled with his shooting. It’s not a major concern at this point because the Hawks are off to a good start and Young leads them in scoring at 27 points per game. But through 14 games, he had career-low percentages in field goals (37.8 percent, down from 46.0 last year) and 3-pointers (30.9, down from 38.2). The Hawks as a team rank only 28th in 3-point shooting, but this is an area they figure to improve in, particularly after Bogdan Bogdanović returns from a knee injury.

Coaching, 3pts shots and bench production are the main problem.

Why not try for some games to play Trae-AJ as backcourt and Murray on the bench, and see what happens?
Trae is taking 22.4 shots per game (20.3 mast season)
Murray is taking 18.9 shots per game (18.4 last season in a roster he was free to do what he wanted)
Murray is even playing more than with SAS

It's a two men show right now.
Just to stop that, I would like Bogi to come back as soon as possible even if it would be better to wait more.

.

I said before, I would like to see Nate sub in AJ in lieu of AHoli with the starters. He's a reliable floor spreader which gives Trae more space in the paint for floaters etc.

Nate likely needs to go. He is riding off of the momentum two years ago.

By next season more people will realize that Nate has reached his ceiling with us. Like you, I would like to see AJ be used more.

Just imagine if Hawks get 2 All Stars this season, but DeJounte is starting ahead of Trae...

Oh, the drama. :argue:

All-star, All-NBA and MVP is the most flawed thing happening in the NBA. There is no way that pay and contracts should be based on that clown show. A bunch of jokers voting.

Both Hawks guards were right in that same area of attempts vs efficiency coming into the season.

Last night's game looked a bit like what some feared with our new back-court. My turn, your turn from Trae and DM while the assists were way down and the rest of the team not involved

Yep.

And after the kerfuffle, things got even worse.

Sadly, Trae is still chirping about the altercation instead of the poor play down the stretch.

Yeah, that's bad. Trae needs a real man in his life to teach him that he's just a kid who is good at basketball but he isn't doing it the right way. Great talent but really doesn't seem to get it. If last playoff's beatdown didn't humble him, nothing will

It's gotten really difficlut to watch Trae pound the ball into the ground over and over again...and not go anywhere.
