BY multiple accounts, TrAE AND LANDRY have a good relationship and speak often.

I wonder if this will motivate ownership to actually go into the tax to field a competitive team...or at least hire a top flight coach sooner than later.

It is an interesting situation. All these rumors make Trae come off as a diva who cares more about himself than the team as a whole. I am not sure how to recover from this as a team.

Alos reported that Trae and Nick Ressler (Tony's son) is also very clowe.
This seems like a 'play to get rid of Nate'

I hope Trae request it sooner than later, if he wants out, so we can plan better for the future.

I'm totally ok with this. Trae is good, but i was never a fan. I was the only one who was right about the Luka/Trae trade from the very start on draft night.

Just off the top of my head, i would be totally ok with something like Trae for Shai Gilgeous Alexander and a 1st round pick...

There would be no way OKC would give up SGA for Trae. Much better contract and is playing a lot better.

Bulls fan in peace, would you do a Lavine for Trae in a straight 1x1 swap? Salaries match perfectly and Zach I think could compliment Murray much better as the off ball 2. Pros/Cons?

I'm at the point that I probably would.

Murray
Lavine
Hunter
Collins
Capela is a solid starting 5.

Not a fan of LaVine at all so it's an easy no for me even for Hunter or Capela much less Murray or Trae. Negative interest.

As for Trae....

As a Hawk fan, I can see how some are frustrated with Trae. When the shots aren't falling, his game is frustrating as the defense is non-existent and Murray is clearly the better player of the two. That said, this is a .500 team and far more talented than any previous Hawk team I recall watching since 1991 and I've watched most of our games within that span (live and on TV). The truth is, a .500 team in Atlanta is usually getting 50% attendance and everyone in town acts like they don't exist. This team attendance is 104.8 which is the highest attendance in Hawks history with really high ticket prices and all everyone is doing is talking about the Hawks even more than the Falcons.

So yeah, Atlanta is never trading Trae. That said, Atlanta will have to make moves to be a contender around Trae. I never liked the Murray deal, while I would have done it 10 out of 10 times from a value perspective. I knew this ish would never work. Trae needs to dominate the rock and Murray, as good as he is off the ball for a PG, he's still a PG. He needs the rock as well. This ish ain't gonna work. That said, until a deal is out there that makes a lot of sense, we gotta make this work. That simple!

So you're saying both Trae & Murray can't co-exist & eventually one will have to be dealt?

They've played 25 or so games together. Before making an all out 'they can't play together' Hawks need a new coach to maximize this talent.

No to the trade, but if it happen, i wouldn't be upset either.

I think there is a better trade out there. Maybe there is a 3 team trade where Hawks give up Trae and Collins and get back a better player like Anthony Edwards?

But if LaVine is the best offer on the table by the trade deadline, then i would be okay with that too.

I would not entertain this at all. Trae has his warts but he has more value than Lavine.

I think the majority knew Luka was and is the better player.

Trae Young's dad responds to trade rumors: 'He's busy trying to win in Atlanta'

Ray Young: This is what sucks about pro ball these days. Although I like Kevin’s stuff, now there’ll be articles on Trae like this[https://s]…just because “rival execs” believe something! Trae doesn’t talk to other teams[https://s] He’s busy trying to win in Atlanta. Will this ever end?
