If there was interest on his part, we'd likely have to dump salary or do a sign and trade. Is there any package that makes sense to get him here?

Is it worth mortgaging the future (even more) to pair him with Trae?

I'm thinking clear the space or trade DJM and Hunter for him. The salaries of Collins and Capela would need to go if the Cs don't want to play ball.

An Eastern Conference executive said the reason the Hawks are trying to unload John Collins is to free up cap space to pursue another superstar to add to Trae Young, and Brown would fit the bill.

“It is not easy to get free agents to Atlanta but Jaylen Brown would be different—they want to be in position, at least, to make a move if he wants to be there. I think there is no question they are watching the situation with him,” the executive said.

If the star guard is chosen for one of the All-NBA teams this season, he would be eligible for a $290, five-year supermax extension. But he’s on the bubble for the coveted honor.

I doubt paying Hunter $20 million per season is appealing to Boston. Boston would probably want multiple first round picks too.

Boston's Grant Williams expects $20m per season, which is understandable, since many players first extension seems to be $20m. I'm curious to see what direction Boston goes.

I can only assume Jaylan Browns next extension will be between $35 and $40 million per season.

Now that he's made all nba, he's eligible for a max extension. Not sure that opening up space is the way to go. Dude can make close to 60m annually with Boston, that's tough.

Jaylen Brown is good...but not $60 million per year good.

Let's find and rehab an All Star big man on discount instead.

Vuc for the full MLE, I'm not mad at. He could backup OO and/or pair with him and Collins due to his shooting prowess.

If we have to get into a bidding war to grab this dude, it isn't worth it.

Dude isn't worth a max, let alone a super-max contract either, IMO. (Supermax is for MVP caliber players.)
But having to dish out actual assets to overpay a limited offensive wing player? EZ Pass.

Spoiler:
Let's find our own Khris Middleton who:

A. was a 2nd round draft pick.
B. was traded to Milwaukee years ago for an underwhelming young player.

I agree, because I believe he can sign for nearly $300 million. However, I would love for him to be a Hawk, but it depends on the haul Boston would receive.

Right, would be really great to have him in the roster, but 99% odds it would cost too much
