Re: The Play-In: Hawks Head to Miami Seeking Revenge
Two years ago Quin's Utah Jazz used this strategy to take Trae out of the game. It's the same playbook Miami utilized last year to upend the Hawks.
I sure hope QS has something up his sleeve to prevent this from happening again.

Re: The Play-In: Hawks Head to Miami Seeking Revenge
The Hawks need to get very physical, but this team doesn't like to get their hands dirty. No one really enjoys contact except for Bey. The Hawks now have bigger wings to throw at Butler and DJM to take pressure off of Trae which are huge differences from the last Heat series.
Gotta unleash JJ in this one. He has the dawg in him on both ends, something that's been missing with the this roster for awhile. Between he, Hunter, and Bey they can somewhat neutralize Butler. Make the other bums do something. Bam is too physical for CC, and we need more OO for him.

DM will have to earn his keep in this one game against Miami. The whole reason why we had the DM trade was because of the 2022 Heat series.
Huerter just didn't have the handles to help out Trae every time the whole Heat team geared up to shut down Trae. Lets see if DM is the antidote to that...

I'd love to see anybody step up. If Trae's not hitting early he better not continue to be allowed to shoot us out of games.

This more than anything. Who's gonna make Miami pay for the way they defend Trae.

If the whole team was focused on Trae, it means other players should have been more open than usual, but they had to be quick to get benefit from that. Unfortunately, Clint, John and Bogi were injured, so not quick at all.
I still think that it was at least half of the problem, a bit more than the need of another playmaker. And when they played with Wright and Trae at the same time, the team was on par with MIA.
They needed healthy front court players, or better, one big to spread the floor and force MIA to defend in another way.
On paper, they should be better than last year, if everyone is healthy and thanks to Bey bringing more shooting/spacing than before his trade, but I have a big doubt: Murray's impact has been really bad this last weeks

They need to at least be a bit physical, because MIA will be from the start and the ref will get used to that. If ATL start to be more physical later, the refs will call it.

Bogi and Bey, they are the one who should punish them, but it doesn't have to come from Trae or Murray direct passing only, instead of searching John and Clint for a lob, they should also run inside-out plays, with John, Clint or Okongwu getting the ball in the paint and passing to the wings.

Meanwhile, the Heat's Jimmy Butler calls his shot for tomorrow night against the Hawks: "So as I take on tomorrow’s matchup, and we get that dub, we’ll worry about what goes on down the line."

It is suppose to be DM, that is why the Hawks traded for him in the first place. If Trae gets doubled and tripled early, DM should have enough ball skills to convert, especially if they assign Butler on Trae.

^Wow.
Well, they'll either all be right...or they'll all be eating crow like 2021. Its up to Quin, Trae and the boys to decide.
