Quin Snyder's Lack of Playoff Success

Post#1 » by Jamaaliver » Sun Apr 16, 2023 7:46 pm

I was fully behind hiring Quin Snyder and stand with him as head man and architect. But it does beg the question why his teams look so uninspired/unprepared in the postseason.

In his first Hawks Playoff Game, Hawks were down by 30 at Halftime. That's not a poor showing by the players, that's poor game planning and in-game adjustments by the coaching staff as a whole.

Thoughts on why he's struggled thus far in the playoffs?
Predictions on if it will continue in the future with Atlanta?
Any obvious short term solutions that anyone sees?

He made adjustments. He just has to figure out what personnel works against Boston or if we even have it. Shooting been our biggest issue

1-16 from 3 in the first half will do that compounded by not being able to defend the 3 - the same issue we've had all year. Quin talked about players over helping in the paint on 3s and maintaining the appropriate spacing - there are habits he's trying to break.
I don't know that I'm going to read too much into 'playoff success' with this group as is this season.
If we didn't make any adjustment in the 2nd half I'd be concerned. I liked the 2nd half adjustments: picking up Boston further up court, players with more effort getting out to 3pt shooters, got into our offense quicker, having the correct spacing etc...and we hit some 3s.
