Hey, just wanted to get y'all thoughts on this. Who's better now and who do you think will have a better career? Thanks

Dort is clearly the better overall talent. But his lack of shooting puts a limit on how successful he can be as a starter.

Bey is essentially a specialist at the single most important skill set in the modern game: 3-pt shooting.

Both are useful players on a winning team, but if Bey has a cold stretch and isn't hitting shots for an extended time, he brings very little else to the game. Dort can be ignored in halfcourt offense, but can score in transition, playmake for others and defend 1s & 2s at a high level.

If Nikola Jokic rates as a 9.5 out of 10 as a player because of his myriad offensive skills, Lu Dort is likely a 7 out of 10 because of his multifaceted game. Saddiq Bey is a 6.5 out of 10 with a chance to move higher if his team defense and rebounding continue to improve.

Thank you for this well thought out and informative response.

Agreed. Their numbers across the board are very similar....playing with Trae also makes life easier for Bey on offense.
