Figured we can get an official Game Thread going for the 1st game of the year.
Punch NGHawks Host Cavs
While Atlanta has no major injury concerns, they made noticeable changes in their lineup by trading John Collins. With Quin Snyder in his first complete season as a coach, the Hawks aim to make a significant impact in the Eastern Conference.
Quin Snyder quickly changed the Hawks’ offensive profile. Their three-point attempts sky-rocketed under Snyder, a pattern likely to persist into the upcoming season. Atlanta was already a good offence, but there is great potential with players such as Trae Young, Dejounte Murray and others.
Cleveland, though, made meaningful moves in the summer to improve this team’s weaknesses, and they have already ranked second in net rating which affects how they’re viewed by betting sites. We believe they have the upper hand and should kick off the preseason with a win.
Cleveland can match Atlanta's backcourt firepower. Players like Max Strus and Georges Niang perfectly complement Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell, while improvement on that end of the floor is also expected from Evan Mobley.
