Atlanta looks for their third straight win as they take host a rebuilding Washington Team



It's gameday for the Atlanta Hawks and they are going for their third straight win to get to 3-2 for the season before they head on a road trip. The Hawks are coming off of a dramatic comeback against the Minnesota Timberwolves, a game in which Dejounte Murray scored 41 points and he outscored the Wolves 22-19 in the third quarter alone. Atlanta trailed by as many as 21 in the game, but they finished strong and won the game by double digits.

The Washington Wizards were projected to be one of the NBA's worst teams coming into the season and so far, that projection has been spot on. The Wizards are 1-2 this season and both of their losses have been by at least 19 points. Their lone win is over a struggling Memphis Grizzlies team that is missing Ja Morant and Steven Adams. They played Boston on Monday and were trailing by nearly 40 points and at different times in the game.

The key for the Hawks tonight is going to be the defense. Atlanta should be able to score in bunches on the Wizards, but the one way that Washington can stay in this game is with their offense and they have capable offensive players if they are shooting well. Kuzma, Jordan Poole, Tyus Jones, and Corey Kispert can all score and if the Hawks don't defend well, especially the three-point line, this game could be closer than most would expect. Even if Young does not play tonight, Murray has shown he can lead the offense and there is nobody on the Wizards that should be considered a good defender.
