Finally, it's here.

This has been the strangest, most exhausting pre draft experience (for me) since 2018. That year, Hawks had 5 draft picks total (3 in the first round).

This year:
  • Between us possibly having two picks -- in the teens.
  • Then only getting one pick -- in the late lotto.
  • Then winning the lottery and suddenly needing to scout the very top prospects
I think I covered more players over the last 4 months than in the last 4 drafts combined.

I may have gone a bit overboard, TBH.

But, it's here now. And I'm looking forward to adding the highest profile rookie addition since Trae.

7 years later, I don't even recognize half of these players...

I have Sarr and Risacher as 1a and 1b, but with the drama, I will be upset if the Hawks don't take Sarr tonight.

One of Bub Harrington, Ron Holland or Cody Williams seem likely to end up as the 'steal of the draft' years from now.

The state of the team is bad.

Young talent turning down workouts.

Hawks may trade starting 1 & 2 guards. Trae informs the media his preferred list of teams that appeal to him.

The front office must hit with the first overall pick tonight. By doing that, they must draft the guy, or trade down for additional picks, or trade for a pkayer/picks.

Let's see if they begin a new chapter that I hope will translate to success for us.

Ron Holland will be great if he can develop range. Van he become a three point threat and eventually make them at a high percentage?

Cody Williams get my vote.

Thinking we're going Sarr based on how we're sticking to actually drafting at #1 vs trading down to the Wiz or any other slot for whoever. Would have to think Washington would at least give up 26 to secure Sarr, and it makes no sense to take Risacher and just give Washington Sarr for free.

It makes perfect sense to not go with Sarr at #1.

He wants to play for Washington.

Now, if we want to have a strained relationship to start things off with him, then we draft him, but it's not ideal.

I was only trying to keep hope that we'd actually take Sarr. I woke up and knew we were going Risacher.
