Just a reminder, the Landry Field front office gave up 5 second round picks to acquire Saddiq Bey.
In 2023.

There is a possibility he can return on a vet min deal. Declining his $8 mil QO kept us from approaching the 2nd Apron.

No surprise here, I thought his QO was lower and they would offer that 1 year. Fields is clearing out all guys that are negatives on defense.

Not a surprised at all considering he tore his ACL. I was afraid this would happen but I would like to retain him for value purposes. On the other hand, he's probably not needed, and I understand why he's not a priority.

They can still bring him back on a vet nin while he rehabs, but that $8 mil is a big number that approaches the 1st Apron.
We need to stay under right now to be able to make trades as FAcy starts tomorrow.

I wish him well but it was a lost for us (5 second round picks). He's more of a liability to any team since he doesn't shoot at a high percentage. His double digit field goal attempts of 11.1 will be used else where.

5 Second Round Picks for 13 months of mediocre production from a backup caliber player.
Possibly the single worst move of Landry's tenure as GM.

would have been even worse had he accepted the almost 4yr/$60 mil deal the Hawks offered.

I'm honestly not sure. He'd give nothing during Year 1 of that contract.
But he's a solid player and he'd be able to rehab his value in the back end of the contract.

He declined looking for a Hunter type deal/
Loved his hustle and the force he played with, but his defense was atrocious. His 3pt shooting was also very inconsistent.
