I think that Snyder has a very good feel for what he wants, the players he has and how quickly the transition will take
TY / DD / ZR / JJ / OO is the lineup

#1: VIT has to play. He provides so much in terms of shooting, ball movement and team defense.

I don't disagree.
Here are my concerns:
1. if teams are leaving him open, he has to hit his wide open 3s at a decent clip.
2. He thrives off ball movement and cuts for easy baskets, can Hunter and CC make enough plays to him when he does to make him really effective on offense?

Trae: A new season, I'm ready
JJ: Look - a falling star
Bogi: I'm too old to be up here
Zacc: I see the star JJ, must be sign. (while ignoring Hunter)
Hunter: You about to take my starting spot huh?
Capela: I'm still here, woohoo
OO: I feel like I'm falling, get me down
Dys: So is this an ATL thing?

Re: Hawks Rotations and Lineups in the Quin Era
Outside looking in fan (I come in peace). It really boggles my mind that OO still hasn’t won over the starting spot by now. Now he might lose minutes to Nance?!
I ultimately trust Snyder and maybe there’s things we fans don’t see behind the scenes, but Capella albeit a good solid veteran and maybe marginally better should be totally okay with taking on a reserve role.
And this isn’t about “the best player should start” because a good coach (and upper management) should recognize their future and double down on development unless they truly view OO as a bench piece longterm.
I’m just really perplexed by the entire situation and you would think it was obvious after resigning OO.

Two words, brother.
Injury concerns.
Only reason Okongwu hasn't wrangled the job just yet.

Injuries have kept Okongwu from wrangling the starting spot from Capela. Each year he has played more minutes with Capela playing less, they are now close to even. Capela was injured at the start of February last season and OO started for 6 consecutive games and put up great numbers on awesome efficiency, we all thought this would be the turning point - but alas - like clockwork he got injured, big toe which ended his season. He was still not cleared for a full workload at training camp because of it and only played in the last preseason game. He was still 'ramping up', so doubtful he gets the start (but he might since CC has a twisted ankle).
As long as OO is healthy he won't lose minutes to Nance.
