His scoring has plummeted.
His efficiency is terrible.

What are you guys seeing?

I mentioned the taped right wrist recently, I forgot about the Achilles.
Those early season 41 minute games catching up to him?

I would prefer they get him healthy. If it's some sort of tendinitis, rest is the only solution. He also had that rib-cage thing last week and his shooting fell off more since then

He is not just shooting so poorly, he is obviously shooting less. It's good that he has the awarness to adjust at least

Let him get well. Right now we have depth

Does he really have awareness, or are you just giving Trae the benefit of the doubt?

If any other player shot this poorly, even for their career, I believe Hawk fans may have an issue with that player.

I think he gets the benefit of the doubt as he has typically shot poorly to start every season. Don't like it, but that's the data.

If Trae is going to be non-agressive with his scoring and setting up his teammates, someone else has to be aggressive scoring and hit these open shots he's giving them on a platter.

His scoring/attempts by quarter last game;

1-2
3-6
0-1
4-9

That's not sustainable if someone else isn't taking over.

I agree.

So, do you believe Trae's shot attempts need to decrease? He currently averages 17.3 attempts per game. Before the season began, I hoped for 20 attempts per game, but that number can't be a reality as long as his shots are not falling.

De'Andre Hunter needs to shoot more and Bogi's average will naturally increase.

Bingo!

I'm glad we can discuss this because I do realize i probably come off as negative. His shooting is a very big problem for me. Even his career average, but he's shooting 38% right now, and that's not acceptable.

I think it's two-fold:
If he's spending the first 3 quarters setting up teammates and not being aggressive in his scoring, and they aren't hitting these open looks, it'll be hard for him to get into a rhythm in the fourth quarter particularly if we are down big. He's going to try and shoot us back into the game.
What's also gets missed in a non-agressive Trae is getting teams into the bonus from freethrows - it makes a difference for the entire team as the gane goes on.

What I see is him trying to play the way Quin wants, looking for teammates first, which is causing him some hesitancy in his natural instinct to score. I think he's picking up his dribble too often and too quickly. We need Trae going downhill and decisive, that is when he is at his best. Playing with three guys still wet behind the ears as NBA starters is also problematic.

I said before, the expectation with this current roster is for Trae to elevate these young players on the offensive side, but in his 6 year career we gave yet to see one player on this team that can elevate Trae's game or come close to matching him, exceeding him or a tick below him.
The 'help' that other teams put around their franchise players, pales in comparison to what the Hawks have done.

Hunter’s inability to stay healthy has always been the limiting factor, but yes, I do agree he needs more shot attempts.
Bogi can run hot and cold, but again, I expect his averages to increase.

The issue with the starting line up as it currently stands is there is no spacing, inexperience on the wings (DD, ZR, JJ), a declining CC - but I'm seeing a lot of this is a 'Developmental Season' floating around - if it is, then it is what it is.
Or if it isn't then I'm not sure what Quin is doing not playing Nance at PF, giving Kobe all the backup PG minutes (he's a natural combo guard with an affinity for scoring that can majes plays off his drives, not coming up court and passing off the ball), GMat glued to the bench etc.
There's a whole lot more that's wrong with the team than the usual pile it all at Trae's feet.

I've rambled, but it is what it is.

I would love to see it happen so I can feel more confident about him being an All-Star. With how his luck has been I have no idea if he makes it or not. There has a been a season, or two I thought he would make the team, but he was passed up

Pardon the language, but the concern is legit.

Why has Trae struggled (or declined) to hit shots in the midrange/painted/floater area of the floor?

Is it the player or the coaching?

I think it's coaching. He just had Hunter adjust his shot diet to take less shots in the midrange, why would we think it would be different for Trae.
