Post#1 » by HMFFL » Tue Dec 10, 2024 7:54 pm

A.J. Dybantsa, No. 1-ranked college basketball recruit, commits to BYU

Alabama, Kansas and North Carolina were the other schools in Dybantsa's final four

"A lot stood out on my visit," Dybantsa said. "Obviously, coach Kevin Young there. My ultimate goal is to get to the NBA. He coached my favorite player of all time, Kevin Durant, and he had high praise about him. On my visit, head coach all the way down to the analytics guy, analytics guy all the way down to the dietician is all NBA staff, even the strength coach.

1. That's a lot of money. Probably too much to turn down.

2. The economics of College Sports is absolutely atrocious right now.

3. Still feels like a mistake with BYU's (likely) sub par coaches & teammates. AJ will still go #1 in 2026, but I anticipate 8 months of misery for him in the meanwhile.

I almost wish he'd just go to France, Australia and just forgo the bad college team for lots of money route.
