2025 Prospect Spotlight - Yaxel Lendeborg

Post#1 » by Jamaaliver » Sat Mar 15, 2025 10:26 pm

Yaxel Lendeborg (UAB, SF/PF)

Size: 6'9", 240 lbs
Age: 22
Nationality: USA
Pro comparisons: Jalen Slawson, Enrique Freeman

Historically productive so far, Yaxel Lendeborg is on track to join Ron Harper Sr. as the only players on record to light up the main statistical categories with averages of 15 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.5 steals.

At 6'9", 240 pounds, the versatility to attack, finish plays, pass, get second-chance points and make plays defensively should lower the bar when it comes to his shooting.

He's impacting games in a Swiss Army knife role at both ends, and it's still not out of the question that he can develop into a capable catch-and-shoot threat. His 14 made threes are already more than he hit last season.

Teams drafting in the late first will be ready to draft him since he's 22 years old and ready for a contender. He fulfills many needs as long as his mind is right. Teams will have a better gugage of that during the interview process in the pre draft.

I have always hoped he sneaks into the second round, but I wouldn't mind us drafting him with the Lakers pick. I expect his stock to increase before the draft. Landry Fields could always draft back but he doesn't seem to value second round picks.

The young man can fill up a stat sheet.

He'll have his hands full today against Memphis.

He typically plays very poor competition and also struggled against the most difficult teams which by my count was Mem as the only ranked team on their schedule.

I mean he's obviously more physically gifted than his peers, plays and body resembles Pablo sort of. He'll need a strong March and combine to into the 1st.

2025 Prospect Spotlight: Yaxel Lendeborg

Post#9 » by atlantabbq99 » Thu Mar 20, 2025 12:15 pm

These prospects of Centers in this year's draft is one of the weakest in the last decade. Nobody's film jumps off the screen and alot of the prospects have some major flaws.

With that said, their is one guy who is semi interesting.....

Yaxel Lendeborg 6'9 PF/C UAB

He is not long, athleticism and vertical is just average. His jumpshotis good but not great, but if you think that Centers who can lead the break and pass is the new hot thing, then Lendeborg is your guy.

He is the best passing big in the draft and might have the highest IQ of any guy in the draft, regardless of position.

He reminds me of 2010 Smoove. I'm not saying Yaxel is Draymond, but Lendeborg has the same pros and cons Draymond had when he was coming out of college.

Hawks should trade down, but regardless of draft pick, the Hawks should take Yaxel Lendeborg.

From Jonathan Givony at ESPN Insider:

Yaxel Lendeborg, PF/C, UAB

Top 100 ranking: 28 | PR: 58
Height: 6-9 | Age: 22.4 | TS%: 60.5%

After posting impressive numbers for much of the season, Lendeborg has his team in the NIT quarterfinals after back-to-back road wins at St. Joseph's and Santa Clara.

Lendeborg is making the most of favorable platforms in the AAC tournament and NIT, which are played at convenient scouting locations (Dallas, Philadelphia, San Jose, and Irvine, California) and draw many NBA executives. With his ability to handle, pass, shoot, and rebound, Lendeborg, 22, has the two-way versatility, skill, and instincts NBA teams covet.

His decision-making and technique leave something to be desired at times, and he hasn't been efficient against better competition (54% TS%, 16% TO% against top-100 opponents).
Nonetheless, Lendeborg is a big man who can be deployed all over the floor and has upside. He'll be weighing NIL offers in the portal (he has one more year of NCAA eligibility) with the feedback he'll receive in May at the NBA combine, which will likely determine his next move.

Its a very weak draft but Lendeborg and Khaman Maluach are the only two guys on my radar.

Yaxel Lendeborg, PF/C, UAB
Senior | TS%: 60.1%

Lendeborg is testing the draft process, weighing a move to Michigan next season versus the potential for securing guaranteed money in the draft. With his ability to handle, pass, shoot and rebound, the 6-9 power forward has the two-way versatility and skill that NBA teams covet.

Brooklyn, with its four first-round picks, could promise a player such as Lendeborg that it would select him to ensure he stays in the draft. He has more upside than a typical 22-year-old because he has been playing basketball seriously for only five years, including only 11 varsity games in high school. -- Givony
