I propose this topic here to talk, analyze and/or discuss about everything related to the basketball side of the team, being it trades, future, current situation, style of play, etc.
The reason is that most team forums work in this way, so there are not so many different topics and the messages can be all together and there is more 'material' for us to talk about.
feel free to participate or continue using the other topics for specific subjects.

With Trae Young out injured for at least 4 weeks, the month of November will not be for the faint ofo heart.
There will be some high highs...and some low lows.

Kobe Bufkin or another drafted PG (Steph Castle, Jase Richardson) would be really useful as a fill in for Trae about now.

15 games in that November span - 6 home games, 9 road games. 2 back to backs which includes a 5 games in 7 day stretch - OUCH. Then another back to back which includes a 4 games in 6 days stretch - ROUGH SCHEDULE.
We have supposedly built a better overall roster in general this season, so I hope we see it. I have no doubt we will win some games.
3 things I'll be watching closely:
1. How we handle the press of our ball handlers
2. How we execute down the stretch of games, particularly in close games. Who gets the last second shot?
3. It's Jalen team over the next 4 weeks: time to shine. How will he execute the offense in crunch time? Will he have the ball or will it be NAW? Will the added offensive responsibly continue to have an effect his defense? He has been putrid on defense so far.

I'm interested in more Porzingis-Jalen Pick and pop opportunities.
Which poison will opposing-teams choose:
- Jalen off a screen with a full head of steam to the bucket
- or Porzingis wide open from deep.

There's also the Jalen at the 3 experiment with Zacc at the 2.
I think we saw the combination vs Indy: NAW, Zacc, JJ, Mo, OO.
Today against Cavs will be a better test (if they have their guys) instead of the Zombie Pacers.

I had my days mixed up.
We'll see if he plays.

Very painful watching this team w/o a lead guard much less a pg for a full game. It's not like you add good 3 point shooting w/o Trae in there, they should make a minor trade for pg depth.

Yeah, it's interesting how we heard all offseason long about improved depth for the team -- yet we still have no competent backups at PG, SF or PF.
I would like to see Kennard added to the starting 5. He brings the same terrible defense as Trae but at least offers elite 3-pt shooting to help space the floor. It might help the team get off to quicker starts.
Nickeil then keeps the same role as 6th man and can close games backing up both PG and SG.

Hawks are not alone. Right now, there are seven teams with identical 3-4 records.
Then there are the seven teams that are behind with lesser wins.
#1 & #3 PG both missing in our last game. Could explain the many turnovers.
Mohamed, in my humble opinion, not getting enough playing time.
Porky still learning to play with the team. He will improve.

I can't get past the thought that if Atlanta gets a top-3 draft pick next summer...one of these three will immediately become expendable.
