While I do not post on this message board except once or twice per year, I do read your comments on a regular basis. Sometimes I agree with your comments, and other times I don't, but I always respect the
passion all of you have for the Hawks. Be assured that our entire organization wants us to return to the NBA Playoffs this season and are all working hard every day to meet yours, and our, expectations.
To show my appreciation for your passion, and for you to see our aggressive Hawks team in person at Philips Arena , I am again inviting all of you to get lower level tickets for only $25 each! (they are normally $65) to the game next Friday, January 11th vs. Washington. Plus, I will choose four of you that purchase these tickets to sit with me in my floor seats - one person per quarter. This is huge game for the Hawks in our drive for the Playoffs as the Wizards are only 1/2 game behind us as I type this. We need to create a strong home court advantage and want all of you to bring your friends, family, co-workers, etc. to cheer on the Hawks to victory during another exciting game at the Highlight Factory!
Here is how to take advantage of this special offer. Click on the link below and type in the word OWNER in the "Enter Special Offer Code or Password" box and order tickets to this game for you and your friends.

If this is for real, very cool gesture. Unfortunately, I will be out of town for that one, but I will be watching on NBA League Pass Broadband as always!

Yes, this is for real. I have done this type of message board offer for the past few seasons for the Hawks and Thrashers. It is really great to get to meet the people behind the posts.

I wanted to post a thank you for the offer, I will try to spread the word to interested parties. I plan to be in my normal seats for the game and hopefully we'll do better on the boards than the last time the Wizards came to town.

Thanks for the offer, very generous and a good way to generate good will for the team. I'll be in my normal seats, but I'll let some of my friends know about the offer. May I suggest two things in passing:
1) Fire Billy Knight for his horrible personnel (draft and free agent) mistakes.
2) Bring in a run-and-gun type of coach next year. A small-ball, offensive minded coach, in the Mike D'Antoni, Don Nelson mold. Not only will that type of coach fit our athletic roster better, it will also bring a lot more excitement and exposure to the team. Which, of course, equals more ticket sales and more national tv exposure.
Thanks for listening!

That's a sweet deal. I got something similar for the home opener against the Mavs, and it was an incredible game. Though I don't think I will be able to attend that game, I'll let people around me to know about that. THANKS !

Oh, LL. You never stop do you?
I am definetely going to be headed to this game. A lot of people complain about the Hawks ticket prices but they actually do have some very good deals. NBA tickets are just quite expensive as a whole.

I like the Hawks as much as anyone but stuff like this is one of the many reasons I will not buy season tickets. Outside of not being able to go to 40+ games, I don't want my team's owner selling tickets at a price that is less than I paid if I were to buy the whole season. I think the fans that are willing to pay for all of the product, taking the weekday Bucks, Raptors, and Wizards games should be getting the BEST price for every game. I don't buy the argument that it is a one time thing. There are too many "2 for 1 Tuesdays", "Family Nights", "College Nights", "Web Specials", "Buy 3, Get 1 Free", "Singles Nights", not to mention all of the coupon codes floating around. I bought a "code" on Ebay last year that was good for HALF OFF all of the games in 2007. I'd like the tickets I can't use to have some value and be easily sold. I've been to the Mavs, Suns, Sonics, Jazz, Heat so far and have tickets to the upcoming Cavs, Nuggets, Nets, Lakers, Heat, Bulls, and Celtics games. Not one did I spend more than face or even close to the price being charged for season tickets. I'm paying less across the board for the best games than the guy that is buying every game. It shouldn't be that way and until there is real incentive to buy 40+ games, I won't do it. I'd love to hear from those that have season tickets on why they bought and if the things I mention irritate them as much as they do me.

Thank you again, Mr. Levenson.
I'm disappointed because I won't be making it to this one. (My wife's due date is Saturday - son #2).

Not sure if you know how the NBA works but this is how every franchise is run. If you added up the price of buying tix to every single game (deals included) it would be more than season tickets.

I can see him being picked to come and sit in the seats and start talking to Bruce about his views on what should be done.
I would go if any of my friends would go with me but I doubt they would. That and I hate going downtown and I hate marta.

Is that simply your impression of how the NBA works or do you have some facts/data/personal experience to back that up?
I think it is common perception that someone who buys more gets a better price. Example: The Ford dealer is getting a better price from Ford when he buys 100 Mustangs than I am when buying 1 from the Ford dealer; the price you can pay for items at Sams/Costco because you are buying a larger quantity than Kroger sells. There are numerous examples to site. I don't think the Hawks work that way. My impression comes from personal experience.
Thanks but

Do the math my friend. Every team does this for a few games.

Mr. Levenson, if you happen to read this I wanted to make you aware of the horrible state of Hawks merchandising.
When the new jerseys were announced in the summer I preordered 2 authentics and 1 replica jersey in my size. Today I finally received an authentic Acie Law road jersey in my size. I was able to buy the replica Josh Smith jersey in my size earlier this season. I was unable to get a home jersey in my size even though I pre-ordered last summer. If possible, I would have purchased an Al Horford jersey and a Josh Smith jersey.
I admit that I'm an overweight fan looking for the largest jersey available, but it is still sad that I can't even get the new home jersey when I pre-ordered through the team. I'm just one person, but I can't be the only person who's had trouble finding the new designs. What we're talking about money being left on the table for the organization. Given what I've observed trying to get jerseys, it seems to me that when the Hawks make their playoff run that the team won't be ready to take advantage of potential bandwagon purchases.
