Not really, we play this way most of the time offensively. The reason we are below 500 is because of wild inconsistency on the defensive end and 2 losing streaks of 6 and 5 games where we played terrible on both ends. We played well in the second half tonight, but far from our best game of the season. We played much better against Dallas, New Orleans and Orlando to name a few.

You guys saw one version of the Pacers in Atlanta, this is the other one but far from the first time we've seen it.

Wasn't that fun? JJ and Marvin might as well have just stayed home.

I want to make a point about Smith. A month ago there were a bunch of people talking about trading him. I was always against that but i was busting his chops about the way he was playing offensively.

Not only was he settling for too many jumpers but he was shooting too quickly when he went inside. I said that he needs to stop bailing out the defense. his goal should be to get to the rim. Force the D to stop him. Too many times he stopped himself.

Tonight he showed exactly what i was talking about. When he drove and got stopped he didn't settle for a quick shot. He kept his pivot foot, gathered himself, manuevered around the defender and went up strong towards the rim. He did this several times. There is no way a single defender can stop him when he does this because he can cover so much ground when he jumps.

Sucks that it happened in such a big loss but it bears watching the rest of the season.

Childress had a nice game but it is hard to get that excited about a big game in a blowout.

I was happy to see Zaza spend the night on the bench.

Did i mention that Marvin and JJ really sucked? wow

Well... JJ has been mailing in performances most of the season and cashing in the checks. Billy should feel like a fool for giving all that guy all this money. He sure hasn't earned it.

Yeah scoring 22 ppg with 5.5 assists per game is pretty horrible. The Hawks should ask for their money back.

Don't try to bull. He has rarely made a huge difference this season. He shoots like 8-21 on a nightly basis almost. The Hawks have no PG and JJ is often dribbling the ball, so his 5.5APG isn't overly impressive.

Actually the facts that the Hawks lack shooters, get many of their points at the foul line and play at a slow pace make his assist total even more impressive.

Not really. I've watched enough games and he's failed to impress most of the the time. His assists are higher than they were last year and he has still manged to impress less often this season than last.

Stats only mean so much. His 40% shooting and 32% 3pt shooting is a huge letdown. To be honest, he has played a lot like Antonie Walker this season. Oh that's right, he had bloated APG stats for a number of years also.

Btw, Vince Carter averages 4.8APG despite playing with Kidd and Richard Jefferson. It's no big thing really.

Who do the Hawks have who can score like Jefferson?

JJ's shot has been off but his assist numbers are actually understated.

At least I've seen Josh Smith show some nice work on the post the past few games. I've been really surprised how composed he's been, using nice spins and shot fakes to get to the basket.

Once again we don't gain any ground on Orlando.

We fall to the Cavs and so does our entire division.

We fall to Indy and Orlando fell to Houston.

New Jersey beat Charlotte

Washington beat Milwaukee

Dallas beat Miami

Marvin should be up there if given more shot attempts. JJ averages 5.5APG when he is basically the only decent ball handler on the team and he plays 42MPG. You don't really see him make a lot of amazing passes. And yes the fact that he has shot poorly all year has been a big factor.

They need to be taken to the woodshed after last night. Must be time for another players only meeting or something. Mario led the team in dimes with 3? Indy was just making it rain with 3's. :noway:
