New Orleans looking to deal.

I'm not sure if we have anything that would fit the bill for them, but the stories I've seen indicate that Rasual Butler might be the guy getting shipped. He's got decent size and is historically a good 3 pt shooter. If healthy maybe Ty Lue is of interest to them as he could spell Paul a few minutes and could shoot some off the bench.

Hilton Armstrong also seems to have promise and size, but hasn't really gotten much PT.

Does anyone see a deal that could appeal to both sides with New Orleans?

Just to go ahead and let everyone know. They wont be interested in Chill/Zaza/Lue for CP3. Let's stay away from that offer.

They have Armstrong and Pargo already, I see no need for Lue.

I was going to mention this but was unable to come up with a reasonable trade at the time.

New Orleans will receive the higher second round draft pick between themselves and Houston in the 2008 NBA Draft.

1)

Atlanta Receives:

Rasual Butler
2008 second round pick

New Orleans Receives:

Shelden Williams

2)

Atlanta Receives:

Hilton Armstrong
Rasual Butler

New Orleans Receives:

Shelden Williams

Lorenzen Wright

Future second round pick

New Orelans would have to view Shelden Williams pretty high to accept this.

3)

Atlanta Receives:

Hilton Armstrong
Rasual Butler
Melvin Ely

New Orleans Receives:

Shelden Williams

Lorenzen Wright

Solomon Jones

All three trades are trade checker approved for what it's worth.

I'd do Shelden for Armstrong(and fillers)...his numbers don't impress me but every time I've seen him play(including college)he was active and he played above the rim. I could see him having a Joel Pyrzbilla type career which is pretty good for a backup center.

^ i don't really understand this board, because each team is just swaping bench players, i don't see how this bolster any team

Because sometimes bench players just need a change of scenery to kickstart their development.

Also, let's look at filling out the skill set of the team. Outside of Joe, our only other 3 pt shooter is Ty Lue, which is a defensive void. Outside of Josh, we have no shot blocking presence. What happens if either is in foul trouble? Some people can dream of the big move and maybe someday something will happen or we can hope our current core steps up into stardom. Until either of those happen, I'm looking for ways to improve the win total of the team.

As for Lue, the article I read said that NO was looking for another backup PG because of Pargo's poor shooting.

Instead of Butler, how bout another potentially cheap shooter?

JJ Redick anyone? I read a wiretap article stating he may be available.

What's he worth to us?

Maybe JJ Redick/ Arroyo

for

Zaza/ Lue?

Haven't checked salary info.

EDIT: Or dooling instead of arroyo.

Zaza / Lue + ATL 2nd for Hilton ARMSTRONG/ B Jackson + NO 1st
Jackson + Lue and Zaza is an upgrade on Armstrong.

CAM, I like the idea, but Carlos has taken the starting job from Nelson and probably isn't available. Dooling may be available though. For Redick to be successful, I think he needs used like Rip Hamilton (lots of movement and screens making it annoying to whomever is on D to create open looks). He doesn't have the athleticism to create his own shot at this level.
