Correct me if I'm wrong but Joe Johnson has two years left on his current deal after the current season. He's going to be paid roughly 15 million during the final year of his contract and 30 years old will be knocking on his door. So, what does the future hold after his final year? Do you believe the ASG is going to bring Joe back?

Take into account that Josh Smith will be locked into a contract that's going to be close to the max.

If we bring Josh Childress back take into account his contract. Whatever it might be! I'm not expecting him to get as much as some of you think.

Marvin Williams will be seeking a longterm extension around this time.

Maybe this discussion should wait until another year or two, but why hold back now, let's get the ball rolling and stimulate our minds what the future may hold.

Hopefully BK will keep the core together and otherwize try to keep a favorable cap. If JJ gets much better you keep him. He will either be re-signed before he hits FA or they will watch his and the teams development and see about meeting offers.

This is another reason I think we let Chillz go. Joe and Marvin are up for extensions in the next two seasons. I think we'll have to wait and see how JJ is playing two seasons. But if Smoove is the star at that point that he may be, we might be better off letting JJ and go and signing more pieces to build around Smoove.

Depends where our team is at and how Joe is playing.

I can't anticipate what they'll do this off season let alone that far down the line.

It definitely depends on how we do the next couple years. If we don't make the playoffs or don't get out of the 1st round, Joe will probably want out anyway so we wouldn't even have to worry about re-signing him.

Hopefully we get in the playoffs this year and consistently make it the next few years. We definitely have a great core of players, so hopefully we will be able to keep them together.

Depends on so much but I think the main things are Joe, Marv, and the pg situation. If we get a good pg and Marv can take over the scoring load than maybe we don't offer Joe a huge contract. If it looks like Marv can't be the go-to guy for scoring or we don't have a great pg yet and we still need Joe's playmaking than we let Marv go.

i think that law will end up being resigned for the cheap so we won't have to much invested in him. also by then speedy's contract will be off the books so that frees up some money. finally the cap number will be higher by about 9 million so we should be alright. we might want to look into doing some more decreasing contracts so that they will balance each other out.

Kobe Bryant is 29 years old and is in the prime of his career.

Chauncey Billups is 31 and is in the prime of his career.

JJ will be 28 and.......probably in the prime of his career.

It seems a no brainer to re-sign him.

Which isn't saying much. Last nights performance by IV (without having to "look over his shoulder) didn't give me much confidence.

We'll have to wait and see, JJ is probably going to demand close to a max deal and he has not been worth that $$$ thus far.
