Grizz to buyout Damon

ESPN says they're going to buy out his contract. Would we want him? If we can get him for cheap I don't see what we would have to lose.

Sign him. Won't hurt anything.

Sign him is right! You won't convince Harry :D, but we really need more depth at the 1.

Why do I have the feeling Cleveland signs him?

I read the favorites are Boston and Phoenix right now. Plus Damon seems like he wants to be on an immediate contender.

Maybe he wants to play with his cousin watching from the bench? Hawks could offer a shot at a starting job... could anyone else?

If he wants to be on a real good/great team then he can't start for them. He couldn't even start on one of the worst teams.

I lost faith that the Hawks will do anything to tweak the roster this year. Regardless we don't seem to be one of the teams a veteran buyout signs with for a minimum salary and I doubt it will be any different this time.

Depends on what Damon wants... He wants out of Memphis because he's not playing... how much would he play for Phoenix and (to a lesser extent) Boston?
As long as his motivation is PT, the hawks have a chance, if it's a ring... then yeah, of course Boston or Phoenix have better shots (even GS!).

Staudamire would definetely get playing time in Boston. Eddie House is their backup PG and they don't want him in that role. That seems like the logical fit for him.

If we even think about signing an aging PG that has done nothing lately, is more injured than healthy, and is about to be bought out by one of the worst teams in the league, we're headed for a disaster ! It shouldn't even be considered.

Yep, Eddie House doesn't play well with pressure defense on him. He is a catch and shoot shooting guard who loves to live behind the 3 point line.

^^^ Yeah and I love Eddie House. But he's just not a PG. Staud would get PT right off the bat in Boston.

Salim hasn't been shooting well and he's been hurting. Whenever he isn't playing we hear a lot of talk wanting him to get more minutes (myself included). Then he comes in and bricks a bunch of shots and it all makes sense.
