The Atlanta Hawks (17-20) visit the Rocky Mountains tonight for a matchup with the Denver Nuggets (24-16). These teams met a week ago in Atlanta with the Hawks coming out on top 104-93 in a game that wasn't really contested until the very end. Since then the reeling Hawks have lost 3 straight. The Nuggets meanwhile are .5 game behind 1st place Portland in the NorthWest Standings.

The Atlanta Hawks would like to invite you to join them tonight as they visit the great American city of Denver

Colorado is famous for many things such as

Late great Singers

Image

They're also big into gardening in Colorado as well

Image

They do everything big in the Rockies!

Image

They also love their basketball team

Image

Carmelo is so big out there he's got his own money.... seriously

Image

Be careful around Melo though. Knicks players were talking about eating the Nuggets alive before the game

Image

Apparently Melo thought they were talking about HIS nuggets

Image

Don't let those queer looking baby blue home Uni's fool you. This guy has a short fuse!

Image

The People's Champ?

Image

My @ss, dude swings like a girl!

Image

Melo does have a softer side, especially around his friends

Image

Is this a milk ad or did AI order the happy ending?

Image

I wonder if James found what he was looking for?

Image

I like to refer to this one as the Human Athletic Supporter

Image

Two bits of good news Hawks fans!

Zaza and his patented brand of defense are suspended for this one

Image

And General Woodson will be fighting his last battle any day now!

Image

Dear God we're Hawks fans, have we not suffered enough?!?!

Image

Enjoy the game everyone and as always......

Viva la Hawks!

That's really tempting, gsu.

Do you think he'll play?

From what I have read it is extremely unlikely.

Melo isn't playing tommorow. I still think we lose by double digits.

What constitutes a major trade? I mean I feel we need a trade because as constituted the only way we make the playoffs is if a bunch of the East continues to suck more than us. I mean I think we need more height on defense and better outside shooting this year to make it this year. Longer term I think we also need a better PG and a different coach.

However having said that I don't think we should sell out a promising player for a short term band aid. I've had season tickets through the worst seasons in franchise history, I'd like to think that were headed toward a multiple year window of success and competing for a chip rather than one trip to the playoffs and settling into mediocrity in the middle of the East because of a desperation trade.

The team hasn't changed and we've gone on winning streaks and losing streaks. We have more talent than most of the teams we play we just can't put it together because, as evildallas points out, we don't have a point guard and our coach isn't really offensive minded. Consistency would make the current group a playoff lock but as of right now our consistency on offense is a little shady. We need solid production from Zaza or Shelden every night in my opinion.

So far this month JJ is shooting 43.6% from 3. On the season he is shooting 35.9% from 3.

Just thought i'd mention it.

The thing is we aren't set up to be consistent. Our PG situation has been mess on both ends of the floor that it is impossible. When AJ is playing well we go on win streaks. When he is not playing well we are a below .500 team.

I agree with the PG position. We desperately need one. Evildallas brought up the problem with the outside shooting. That's another need we got. But for now, I'd be very happy if we could just go ahead and trade for a true PG. We'd be set to make the playoffs since the teams in the Conference are struggling. We're in the mix even with all problems we got. Tonight's game is very important. I guess A.J. will be rested and we can get a win if Melo sits out.

Great gamethread gsuteke. Funniest one I've ever seen. It must have took a lot of time. I think the Nugs will take this one. I'm sure they want blood after the last game.

They got whipped up and down the floor last time. As poorly as we have played on this 3 game losing streak (well, more the first two games) I think we'll bust out tonight against a team we like playing. You never know with this team though.

I definitely agree with you. I have been a long time proponent of a PG upgrade... hence my Conley support. What I was referring to though was consistent bench production. As I have stated, I thought we were well positioned in front-court depth with Zaza and Shelden. They both provided one or two things they could do well. If you go back and look at the game logs from December, you'll see that Shelden was fairly productive which really helped the team in terms of consistency (larger margin of error). However since January has rolled around, he has basically been dead weight. Zaza has been an even bigger lost cause this season, he has some all-time terrible stat lines... my two faves: 4 minutes 0-5 shooting and a rebound (1/2/08) and 19 minutes 2-8 shooting and 5 TOs (12/27/07).

If Shelden could show consistency from month to month, or if Zaza could not be completely awful, we would be in a much better place because we lose too many games based on a couple wasted possessions.

Those ones with the music are cool but you have to open the extra window and listen and I doubt most people do.

I had a funny idea about a Bernie Mullen but I chose not to roast the poor guy!

I find all my stuff. I've never opened a photoshop program.

Point taken though. I should keep the logos straight up.
