Seattle a must win?

Post#1 » by HMFFL » Thu Jan 24, 2008 7:21 am

This none divisional game could very well be a must win for us tonight. A win needs to happen now before we continue our brutal road trip.

I don't feel good about playing at Portland, Phoenix and Los Angeles (Clippers). Seattle could be the only win we end up with for the rest of the month.

Our weakness have been revealed and I'm not sure how much longer we can play like this if we want any hope at the playoffs.

Which path are we going to take.........

I definitely prefer going for the up arrow right there but the Hawks are playing currently for the other option.

The next game at Seattle is straight out winnable but, being the pessimist that I am, I don't think the Hawks have the energy (or the heart) to win at least one game on this road tour. I would continue to think that the Hawks are going to make the playoffs but they're not playing the way they should've been like last year.

For years, winnable games like these have the Hawks disappointing me for most of the times, then all of a sudden, a win surfaces in the most unlikely situation. Like a win at Portland or/and Phoenix perhaps.

Deshaun brings up a good point. This team has no heart. That is why we struggle in adverse situations. This WC road trip isn't looking good.

I truly hate it when the term "must win' gets ridiculously overused on these boards. But really I can see where you are coming from on this. Looking at the upcoming schedule it really does get kind of rough. I am guessing the Hawks will be the favorites in maybe 3 or 4 of the next 16 games.

Dude, if every game is not a must win then the players need to go right along with the coach. Failure is for people whom accept it. Success is for those who expect it. Coaches inspect what they expect. Winning is there job. If you dont go to work you get fired.

A must win is a game 7 or elimination game. This is not a must win because if we lose we are still there.

However, it is one of the more important games of the season. We have got to beat teams like Seattle or the losses are going to start to pile up.

At this point, I just feel this could very well be the only winnable game for the rest of the month. I don't say must win often, so that's why I have it as a question, but after thinking about it today I'm starting to believe the Seattle game is a must win. We need a boost and something positive to try to finish the month off with a good note.

I overuse the term, I admit, but this isn't a must win just because it is winnable. Must win does imply consequences, not just blown opportunity.

If we lose this game(to an awful Seattle team) then there is a great chance that we will lose every game on the road trip. It's not a must win but if we don't win...I think alot of fans will give up on this season.

I know I will. But hey, at least I lasted longer than last year.

If we lose to Seattle, it's going to take a nice winning streak or a major trade for the hawks to catch my attention again the rest of the season.
