Pursue Corey Maggette?
Player option for 8.4 million after the season. He may just decide to opt out and seek a longterm contract. However, I like what he brings, and even if he takes his player option we could move him fairly easily next season.

To answer my own question with an offer this works in trade checker:
Salim
Shelden
Josh Childress
Ty Lue
for
Maggette
Cassell (expiring)
I do that. With or without Maggette opting out at the end of the year. Maggette's penetration ability and experience really would help when our shots aren't falling. Cassell gives that big game experience and swagger that would great to expose our young players to during a playoff run.
Clippers get a younger asset in Childress that should be less expensive to resign and Shelden who might blossom in a different situation. Ty Lue holds down the fort for the rest of the season at PG.
We may have to add our 2010 1st to get it done, but I think it would be worth it to help punch a playoff ticket.

There are trades where I would not want to send Childress, but a trade for Magette would be one I would send him... if Law can improve in the next two years, and Magette re-signing for a decent salary, it could create a Joe-Magette-Law-Marvin covering the 1,2 and 3 positions. Would still need another PG.
