Front-office sources tell Marc Stein of ESPN that the Bobcats have reached an agreement with Earl Boykins for the remainder of the 2007-2008 season.

What do you think this means for Charlotte's playoff hopes?

I think that boykins could be a great fit on a good defensive team that just needs some offensive spark on occassion. But actually Charlotte has been better on offense than on defense this season. I think he will help them, he is still a useful player but I don't think he makes much of a difference.

From what I gather, the 'Cats play Felton off the ball and let McInnis run the point quite a bit. How does Earl Boykins fit into that strange mix?
It can't hurt, Earl is a fairly effective player and an explosive scorer. I don't know how much it'll help though.

Well boykins is better than McInnis so just from that standpoint he has to help.

Earl will help a team like Charlotte. I'm just glad we didn't consider him. Not exactly sure how much he signed for, but I believe Earl hit a desperate point.

That's true but I thought that Vincent's logic, be it wrong or right, was that Felton doesn't have the chops as a pure playmaker so he plays McInnis 25 minutes a game to get the offense flowing better. If he doesn't think Felton has enough vision or passing ability, I don't know what he's going to do with little Earl.

Charlotte passing us should be the last of our worries
