It might not make sense to bring O'Neal here

But it does sound like he can be taken from Indiana for a young player and some trade exceptions.
We have that type of package and we need to take a risk to bring an established player here.
I know a lot here don't like O'Neal here, but he would definitely improve our frontline, and it would be interesting to see him, Smoove & Horford paired with JJ and a dependable PG.

Notice that our weaknesses are still at 2 positions. Can Marvin or Chills get this trade done? You either pay Childress, or he will go elsewhere when given the chance. Marvin is right behind that.

One more: Wally Szcerbiak is expensive, but he could provide that spark off the bench. He brings numbers into the game, and we still need more shooting. He will not take JJ minutes; it will have to come from Marvin's minutes.

2 possible options that could help us in a playoff run.

Gasol wen't for 2 late 1st rounders and a 3rd string prospect pg. That should be a reality check for the Pacers. So many teams are scared of the luxury that JO's value on the market is expirings at best IMO. They could probably get a bad contract and a protected first for him.

Yes and no. The Grizz are in a different position than the Pacers. The Pacers are in an absolutely **** position but they don't have the super-young core that the Grizz do. They aren't a lock for a low lotto pick either so they want to get some sort of player return on JO because they can't count on anyone growing into a star and they can't count on being in the running for Rose/Beasley/Jordan.

The Nets could still make a move for him with Jefferson.

I don't want him here. If we are willing to spend that much money than we can fill all of our holes instead of just our depth problem in the froncourt. Honestly, our biggest strength right now is our starting frontcourt. Josh and Al have been killin'em lately.

COB, it can't be the only trade that is made here

We can't rely on O'Neal as a main player, but he does present an interesting piece in the frontcourt.
IMO, both the backcourt and the interior need to be talent improved.

Wouldn't you like to see us match up with Boston if we could get JO here?
He gives us some depth in the frontcourt and gives us an high talent frontline. We are still weak at that level. Horford has helped, but he needs someone to help him on the other block.

I could move Smoove to the 3 as he is on the perimeter a lot of times on offense. Can't JO shoot the jumper? That gives us 3 major options to go with JJ.

Yes, he makes too much money, but without a #1 next year. who would come in here as a FA? They are going to demand the big bucks as well.

I can still see us getting a Jack or a different PG to run this team. Adding Jason Williams to this roster would help us as well.

I agree, that is a lot of money to give a player who might not be healthy enough to last 2 full seasons, but it might also energize him because he can still be productive.

You have to improve on what we currently have, or it will be either out of the playoffs or a quick playoff exit.

i wouldnt mind him being here if he didnt mind coming off the bench. Is there a way you can send an email to BK or someone like that to tell him to make a move for either JO or Andre. Really we can give up alot i guess with the exception of horford, Joe and Smith and possibly acie. I know people here dont wanna give up Marvin but if we can get Jo and possibly andre then we should try it. Maybe do a 3 team trade or something.

If ASG is willing to take on $20m of salary and you are willing to trade Marv than we should try to get Both Millers and a lower level backup big man and fill all our needs.

Of course it doesn't make sense. He's making huge $$$ for nowhere close to that production. He also is injured and not going to make an impact this year and maybe in the future. And all of this comes before the issue of him being one of the most overrated players in the game over the last five seasons.
