Sixers intrested in Lowry / a Hawks slant.

I was reading this and have posted several times about us being a suitor for the services of Lowry here on our board. This on top of the Andre Miller discussions made me wonder if this might have some unmentioned 3 way ties with the Hawks.

Parts like Miller or Louis Williams to the Hawks perhaps...

BK isn't going to let on to anything. I truly believe that he will not consider any trades that are out in public based on his level of basketball intelligence.
I would think the Hawks would need to do something because the rest of the basketball world is making upgrades or so it seems.
Those who want to win a championship are making improvements now.
If the ASG won't allow us to do that, please sell the team because the ASG would not be in it to win. A lot of promise, a little on delivery as of now.

Why not? If Philly get its local boy in Lowry why wouldn't the Hawks be able to get our local boy in Williams?

If Williams is sooooooo valuable then why the interest in Lowry in the first place???

Well then MAYBE Miller is on the move to the Hawks???

I think something is up here. Really think the Hawks are working on this. Just my prediction.

The Sixers won't give up on Williams. He's one of our most talented young players. If we were to give him up, we would have to receive Childress, or one of your other young players in return.

The idea of bringing in Lowry is because he's a young Point Guard, and Hometown favorite with a lot of potential.

Lowry would be the first point guard off the bench if Miller remains in Philly Louis Williams would be used as a combo guard off the bench, which utilizes his scoring strengths.

Awful. Didn't someone else on this board say to stop putting Claxton in on any deals because it immediately invalidates them? Philly (or any other team in the league) would have absolutely no interest in taking on Claxton, his tiny broken down body and giant contract unless they were dropping even worse contracts in return.

Again Speedy wont be on an NBA roster next year. consider him a large expiring contract.

NWO- you don't understand. If Speedy retires while on the Hawks then he will come off the Hawks cap. If he is traded and retires then his new team doesn't get any cap relief at all. Thats why he is almost literally untradable at this point. He is more of a risk to every team than he is to the hawks.

OK, I took a look at the CBA. ( very confusing ) I could not see why if the Trade takes place this year and he retires during the off season why the would not get the relief?

Can someone (killbuckner) mind take the time and pointing out where this rule is. I would love to understand it better. Not that I doubt you at all but I cant find anything in this regard.

I think this line from Larry Coon's Salary Cap FAQ pretty much says it all:

"Teams are not allowed to trade for disabled players and then apply for this salary cap relief. Only the team for which the player was playing when he was disabled may request this relief."
