Hello Hawks fans by the way congrats with the trade. I would just like to hear from you the views you got for Shelden Williams, the pros and cons that you saw in him. I know you maight hate him for being picked 5th overall but please dont add coments like those, I would just want to hear an honest view you got for him. Thanks and goodluck in making the playoffs and we sure would miss Mike Bibby.

You won't be happy if I answer that. As far as I'm concerned he is a complete zero. Not a good defender, horrendous offensive player, not a good locker room guy etc.

A few are higher on him. But even those who were are happy to see him go (because they felt Woodson would never use him correctly so we might as well deal him).

Pros: He's a hard worker when he gets consistent playing time. He can rebound. That's about it.

Cons: He has ZERO athleticism. He's too short to guard 5's and too slow to guard 4's. He has no offense whatsoever. He pouts and doesn't play hard unless he's given serious playing time.

Overall: He is a complete bum. He will never be anything more than a role player in this league who's main positive attribute is his ability to contribute 6 fouls.

Thank you for taking this useless headache off our hands!!!

Shelden can be a 6-8ppg/10 rpg player if given consistent mins. When thinking of Shelden just think of Kurt Thomas. That is basically who you will be getting. He is not as good as KT is now. Just let him play and Kings fans should start to like him. Go find what he did in April of last year. Shelden showed what he can do if given the mins. More mins for Shelden will = a more confident and productive Shelden.

Shelden will be a decent addition if you try to think of him in the Chuck Hayes/Reggie Evans role and forget where he was drafted. I think he could be another Udonis Haslem if he works really hard on his jumpshot and his defense(Haslem is much quicker) would also have to improve. He's just too mechanical offensively..bad hands..misses easy dunks.. and he's slower and shorter than the average PF.

Shelden is more in the mold of Antonio Davis or dale Davis.

He can be a double-double machine with PT and opportunity. He is a rigged, but undersized defender. Great help defense. High bball IQ.
Good kid and hard worker.

He'll surprise us all. It's gonna be Boris Diaw all over again.

I'll put it this way: I'm almost more happy we're getting rid of Shelly, than that we're getting Bibby.

Im only half-way kidding.

Con's are he is the most uncoordinated player in the NBA, and is second only to Kwame Brown in having the worst hands in the league. Pro's are that he looks like Chewbacca which amuses me during blowouts and that he has a cute girlfriend. Skill-wise he is an okay rebounder at times, but I've also seen guards out-jump him for rebounds in many games.

All in all, I can see him being a 8ppg 10rpg guy, but chances are... if he's playing enough to get those numbers in the first place, then your team probably sucks.

Pros: Pretty good rebounder, is good around the basket
Cons: Likes to settle for outside jumpers, bad hands, slow of foot, lacks aggression, very tough on the eyes

Shelden needs to work on his foot speed and coordination. Maybe try some dance classes Shelden. He also is a big too aggressive. This starts because he's use to blocking College players, and it's has yet to happen at the NBA level.

Charley Rosen of Fox Sports is a bit more negative on Shelden than we are:

Shelden Williams tries to be a bully in the paint, but doesn't fool anybody

Double-double guy when given consistent playing time. I think he'll be fine, he just needed a change. I'm glad he got it and I wish him the best with the Kings.

Perhaps but he is much less athletic than those two. Doesn't have the quicks.

In his rookie year particuarly, he was very reliable at the FT line with a good stroke.

Jump shot isn't great, but far from terrible.

Can rebound.

He's not a terrible player, showed in his rookie season that at the very least he belongs in the league for something (led rooks in rebounding, could get the line consistently). He is going to have to work harder than everyone else to become a net positive on the court. Work on his post D, work on his J, learn how to finsih well with a layup because he has trouble dunking....

Its possible. I hope him the best.
