We got our wing man...

According to Sekou, Jeremy Richardson is coming back to the Hawks.

So now all we need is a big man... and BPA (best player available).

Somebody posted in comments that we should get JO. I guess they think that we have this abundance of contracts to match his salary.

Some of those things are ridiculous. Saying we should get a starting center (not exactly sure how we would do that), move smith to the 3, and Marvin to the bench. Or moving Marvin in a deal (to seattle none the less who has Durant and Jeff Green).

We do need a big man. However I don't think we can get an elite backup because we don't have the pieces to offer. Now we do need to trade Salim. If we can get a big man in return for Salim, then we should do that.

I do have a question though. Lets say we could bring over Andersen and Cenk, but are over the cap. Can we offer them money and go over the cap like you can do with picks since he hold their rights still? That might be a viable option if the Spirit Group is willing to shell out some money.

It's on Jeremy now if he wants to play for a NBA team. It's not like the bench is deep so all he needs to do is come out and produce.

I'm afraid God might strike me with a thunderbolt for such blasphemy, but Billy Knight is on a roll! He had a solid draft, just completed a spectacular trade, and just picked up exactly the type of shooter we need. If he complete this roster with a serviceable big man, I just might have to stop wishing for his slow and painful death...

I was wondering the same thing...... I always wonder if we will ever see those players over here... or was it just a waste of our time slot? I wouldnt recommend bringing Andersen over if it would jeopordize our chances of resigning the joshes.
We go way back like Mookie and them!!! Where were ya'll when all we had was Hendu? Watch the flock of fans start coming out of the wood work now!!!

I've been calling for Richardson for a long time and was pissed when we cut him last year. Is it a 10-day deal or is he locked up for they year? I definetely want him on the 15-man roster for the long haul this season.

I think you can sign NBDL guys to 2 consecutive 10-days before having to guarantee the contract.

Assuming the Hawks wait until Tuesday, that gives them until March 10th or so to evaluate J-Rich.

now that we have gutted our big man rotation and don't have a pick in the draft to replenish it, i would definately see david andersen coming over next season to spell zaza. only way it doesn't happen is if solomon jones does an exceptional job this season. also, cenk has already said that BK told him to expect to be brought over next year to try out for the team. he isn't getting any burn in europe and keeping him over there and there is no reason to keep him there.

^^^You mean other than the apparent fact that he sucks. LOL

I think Andersen is locked into a long-term deal IIRC.

Let get Cenk over here and see what he can do. I hope Jeremy take advantage of this chance. This guy has been given so many chances by just about every team in the league. He just never make the best of it.

the main reason to keep a player in europe is to have him develop without have to pay him. if he isn't getting burn then you might as well bring him over.

We can keep both. I do think Richardson is more talented based on his scouting reports/NBDL numbers. They both seem like good hustle players...Richardson just more size and a better jumpshot. I'm happy both of them are getting a chance to play in the NBA and just getting an NBA paycheck(even sitting on the bench) is much better than playing in the NBDL for those guys.

I assumed he wasn't asking about whom to keep, but rather who gets more burn. I think it will be dictated by situation.

^^^Dictated by situation as in:

Currently losing the game = J-Rich
Currently winning the game = Mario

You forgot (though hopefully this won't happen)

Getting blown out= both

Also, I think it will be on more specific situations, need a 3... J-Rich. Need a stop: Mario.
