Until they learn how to maintain their composure, take care of the basketball and focus for more than five minutes at a time, fleeting moments of success are all that the Hawks can hope for this season.
"I thought our energy level the first half was phenomenal," Hawks coach Mike Woodson said. "We did everything off of effort. And then to start the third quarter they turned it up defensively and we couldn't make shots and it went the other way so fast, we couldn't really maintain. We cut it to six but they had already established it in the third quarter."
"I don't know what to tell you," said Hawks captain and All-Star Joe Johnson. "I can't explain how we keep getting these leads and then lose them and just fall apart at the most crucial times. I wish I knew."
"It was one of those nights you have," Bibby said. "You have to take the good with the bad and this was one of those bad shooting nights you have to just forget about and move on from."
