After hearing the rumors that Dale Davis would sign with Detroit, this little tidbit about Theo Ratliff contradict that.
Story Here
While it is still critical that Zaza play to previous years level for the Hawks bench to function well and Solomon stepping up would be big, we do have room on the roster for a veteran big on the team and in the clubhouse. We could do worse than Dale Davis. Do we have a chance or is someone else higher in the food chain likely to make him an offer?
Is Dale Davis still a possibility?

Maybe at some point we can become a true contenders and go after these types of players for help. For the time being players will overlook our Hawks and seek the top teams around the league. On the other hand we will reach that point and players will want to come to Atlanta.
I feel the one problem we have is Coach Woodson and veterans might not want to waste their time playing "under" him.

^^^^ I would like Dale occassionally coming off the bench to sure up the inside when Smith or Hortford rests if we could sign him cheap. Although his contract would likely be affordable though, I agree that we aren't the first place he would look. We are pretty much at the tail end of the list of teams competeting for the playoffs at this point, and if any of them made him an offer, I'm sure he would go there instead.
