Woodson prepares Hawks for 51.9-second replay with Heat

Atlanta leads Miami 114-111 when game resumes

WORKING ON TWO: Looking ahead to Saturday's two-step date with Miami wasn't an issue for the Hawks before Friday's game against Charlotte.

At least that's what they said before the game. "One game at a time," Josh Childress said. "One game at a time."

That doesn't mean the Hawks didn't prepare for the bizarre circumstance of having to replay the final 51.9 seconds of overtime from their Dec. 19 game against the Heat and the regular scheduled game they'll play 15 minutes after the completion of that replay game.

Hawks coach Mike Woodson even spent time in Thursday's practice going over how he wants his team to attack in that final 51.9 seconds, when action will resume with the Hawks defending and leading 114-111.

"We've got to have a defensive team on the floor, and that's what we plan on doing," Woodson said. "We've got to try and get a stop, play the 3-point line and switch and make sure that we're not in a position to give them a 3-pointer."

Miami only had 7 healthy players tonight and got destroyed by GSW. I'm not sure how much I want the Hawks to win but you would think that they would try to curb stomp the Heat and send a message to make up for their no show tonight. The worst case scenario is that they win both but let the Heat hang around in the 2nd game which would put us back in the top 8 which would also keep Woody's job.

I'm on my pessimistic mode right now... I wished the Hawks lose to Bobcats then, I wish they lose both games to Miami.

I don't know but the franchise is gonna to to another slump next season if they don't/can't resign their valuable players.

The only thing good about this game was Horford jumping up and down on the bench when we won. He was the only one on either team who even cared who won. I even saw Wade laughing when he missed the shot...what was the point of that?

Good start by Joe but boy do we suck. We're struggling to get stops vs a team as bad as were were three years ago. I will be disappointed if the Hawks don't win by at least 20.
