That was the game right there when he sat down JJ with 3 fouls (7-8 mins still remaining). They were up 6 and then they were fighting to get back from double digits lead.

Another game that our "coach" potentially lost for us. Why in the world would you sit our best player for the whole 3rd quarter when he only has 3 fouls?? Especially when our offense couldn't get any thing going. The only offensive threat we had on the court was Bibby and I don't know what happened to his shot in the 3rd. Joe and Marv have been playing pretty well off each other lately, if Joe is double he kicks it over to Marv who was having a good shooting night. You sit both of them for what seems like an eternity and we completely let NJ take all our momentum away.

Also I don't get why we went away from Horford in the 3rd. He was killing anybody they put on him, Sean Williams, Diop, it didn't matter who was on him.

...you would think Woody would be smart enough to not play Chilz(who can't shoot)and Smith(who can't shoot)on the wings while the other team is double teaming the pg.

EXACTLY!!!!!

I like that we played hard, just a tough game to win on the road. If we play like that we should get make the playoffs considering our schedule.

The entire first half was a layup drill for them. That can't happen.

At least we aren't the Heat. 54 points in a game?!

this had NOTHING to do with Woody!

this had everything to do with an athlete closing a game and a jump shooter folding at the end of the game.

a few months ago i suggested a Joe/Vince trade, someone made a comment that Vince is a ballhog, no defense, attitude, blah blah blah.... simple turth is, if Carter was on this team, Hawks would be playing for the 5th playoff spot.

Wow, I just checked the Miami boxscore. I needed that laugh. They threw out a summer league lineup.

Chris Quinn - 48 minutes
Daquean Cook - 31 minutes
Mark Blount - 28 minutes
Ricky Davis - 37 minutes
Earl Barron - 34 minutes (who?)
Bobby Jones - 35 minutes (who?)
Joel Anthony - 27 minutes (who?)

They shot 25%, they were outrebounded 16 and had more turnovers than assists.

Sadly after the draft they may be better than us next year.

Harry that's as dumb as saying you would take Damien Wilkens over Joe based on one game. Vince Carter blows and was pathetic enough to admit that he stopped playing hard for his team when times got rough. I'd rather have Speedy if given the choice.

What opinion do you share with Billy? That Paul wasn't going to be a HOF pg? Thankfully Billy didn't share your opinion of Yi starting at center this year.

Hawks might have actually won had they not given up about 30 dunks.

Wow. Not a terrible game I guess but did I actually watch a lineup of Bibby - Chil - Smith - Horford - Pachulia for a full 6 minutes? That was one of the most hideous things I've ever seen. No one could drive because everyone was being guarded by a smaller, quicker player and no one could post up because they'd be immediately doubled. The only way we scored with that lineup was off of putbacks.

NJ sets way better picks than us. Really dirty, physical, effective, moving picks. I don't know if it was on TV but Stro Swift actually hip tossed Josh Smith onto the floor while Smith was on VC, literally picked him up off his feet and threw him onto the ground. Boone was throwing himself into everybody too. Either the refs need to call it or the Hawks need to start playing tough back.

Carter was pretty awesome, he was making some incredibly tough shots. For all the talk about how soft he's become (and he certainly has), he is nowhere near as explosive as he used to be. He takes a lot more circus shots than he used to because he doesn't have the lift to just go over guys any more. Smith did a better job on him than anyone else on our team, that kind of suprised me because I figured he'd go right by Josh... Smith's shotblocking scared him at the rim though and he missed a couple layups.

On the whole I don't know how to take this game. I can't just say that VC went off and we didn't have a chance because we definitely did. As good as Chil can be, I have absolutely no idea why we played him so long. He got absolutely torched on D, couldn't take it to the hole, and wouldn't take jumpers. We would have been better off with Richardson playing those minutes.

Zaza had another OK game.

If we play like we have been this road trip and we will make the playoffs.

Return to Atlanta Hawks
