we all know J-Smoove is dumb, so is J-Chillz. but now they call JJ "Joe Cool?" aint that Snoopys nickname. SLAM magazine nicknamed him the Quiet Storm, I thought that nickname was tight, I would rather that stick than Joe Cool, anyways this topic is stupid, but I hate the nicknames they gave to the players on our team. Maybe Horfords nickname wont be so lame.

Any PF or C in the NBA is going to be called "Big Al". It even happened with Harrington.

I really hate the name "J-Smoove" and refuse to call him that. It just sounds so stupid.

Chillz if fine by me. Marvelous Marvin Williams (that was it right?) is a moot point until he becomes marvelous.

Don't mind "Joe Cool", love "The Quiet Storm".

I'd like to call Horford, Al B.Sure after the late 80's R&B singer. I dig Chilz better than having the J in front. I don't mind Joe Cool, myself.

There isn't one thing smooth about J. Smith's game. I like JJ just as it is, but quiet storm is nice too. J. Chill works for me as well. Now, I think it's an insult to anyone who watchs basketball when Salim is called the Sniper.

The only nicknames I use are Chill (not Chillz) and J-Rich. Otherwise it's Joe, Marvin, Josh/Smith/Josh Smith, Bibby, Horford, Zaza, Law, Salim, Mario, and Solomon.

I agree.... they're all kinda stupid and basically pretty lame. JJ isn't really a nickname to me, and Joe Cool is lame... JSmoove is stupid, JChillz/Chill/Chillz whichever, is pretty lame. And as far as I know, Marvin nor Al really have one. We gotta do better.

Did anyone hear the conversation the last few games between Steve Smith and Bob Rathbun? They had started calling Childress "The Baseline Bum"!! Hilarious.... of course he didn't like it, and asked them to stop calling him that. Now they keep calling him Mr. B... still lame.

yeah, I remember the hawks webiste had an article on Mario West, and they called him super mario. I kinda like that nickname. King Solomon is cool too. I didnt know that Horford was called the godfather. why?? thats not really that bad either though. Zaza was called Big Z in the old hawks intro before the games. i remember Ty Lue was called the show, in that intro too.

It's even worse when you're forced to hear Bob Rathbun's corney ass say these nicknames. That dude makes me cringe on a nightly basis.

It's hilarious when he tries to be cool and hip. My favorite is when we're playing Miami and he always has to say "Get Buckets" for Ricky Davis.

No love for Rathbun? Okay so he's not someone I'd want to get a beer with, but I think he's a fantastic announcer.

Smoove is a nickname Josh gave himself(obviously) way before the NBA. WTF calls Horford "The Godfather"? "The Closer" is hilarious given how mediocre Lue is. He was a pretty clutch player but giving him an official nickname is still hilarious. "The Landlord" is a pretty good nickname but Shelden got dunked on in just about every game he got consistent minutes. It would be a better nickname for some 1 more intimidating like Dwight, Oden, or Amare.

Horford was called the Godfather by Donovan while he was at UF. Its because he is quiet but people listen to him or something.

The fact that Smith gave the nickname to himself makes it even worse.

Josh gave himself the nickname? I thought he wanted to be called the ATLien and got Smoove instead.
