I can't wait to get out there and play another game. I'm ready to stop thinking about this stupid Toronto stuff.

Ref/Scorekeeper by 1 for Atlanta. Final Score ATL 100 Philly 99. In bad taste I know, but funny right. But in all seriousness I like Philly's chances in this one.
With the ninth overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, the Raptors select Vyacheslav Kravtsov from the Ukraine. In Jim Kelly we trust!

Hawks need to show up with playoff intensity for this one because nothing is settled yet. Our last 2 home games are against top teams and we're always a question mark on the road. Beyond all that we need to build on the momentum and play like we belong in each game.

Oh and MoPete, we won't have the same refs on Friday. I hear they got assigned to the Charlotte game.

Also, I still think we've got a talent edge on Philly, but they've got a coaching edge on us.

Won't be announced until real late for sure, but I can give you a very educated guess.

Expect Thursday April 24th for home game #1 and Saturday April 26th for home game #2.

Season ends on the 16th. Based on NBA playoffs last year first games should be on the 19th. Half the series will start on the 20th. Philips Arena is unavailable on the 25th. Last year the Detroit 1st round series was Sat, Mon, Thurs, Sat. (ended in 4) and they were the #1 seed. The dates could change slightly but with the Arena booked on the 25th I like my chances.

Hope that helps.

Philly plays hard. They aren't unbeatable but you can't expect them to give you a period or two to get your bearings.

Philly is playing better than Toronto right now and we had trouble with them. Lets hope the guys react to any controversey with a statement game (and hopefully the statement is beating the crap out of Philly). I don't know what to expect from these guys so I'll just say Go Hawks.

stupid? why's that? you don't think it has some stuff to it? you think there is no reason for toronto to be upset? you obviously have homer goggles on and CLEARLY see horford touch the ball...

Feel free to discuss it on the running thread at the general board if it still interests you so much.

The NBA referees blow calls often. If every game that had a blown call and went to overtime or finished with a point or two difference resulted in days of discussion about it and inaccurate accusations of cheating toward your team and insults to its fan base then the league would not be very enjoyable. We are trying to enjoy our team's first playoff run this decade and its reasonable for the Hawks fans to want to move on to another important game.

We match up well against Philly but they are very hot. They've decided that they are a young running team and when our team does that for a whole game we do well. I definitely give the coaching edge to Cheeks. On ESPN First Take this morning they said that the Atlanta offense was moving better because Woodson was listening more to Bibby's input and that the team used to stand around watching Joe Johnson dribble one-on-one too much (ain't that the truth).

The other thing I'm keeping an eye on is the development of Thaddeus Young. He seems to be the athletic high upside project pick that Marvin Williams was for us (albeit a lot cheaper). I have a nagging feeling that Young is progressing quicker at this stage (1st year) than Marvin did. Yep, it's bad enough that Marvin has to be compared to Paul and Deron, but I also compare him to the top athletic prospects from other recent drafts (Rudy Gay and Thaddeus Young). Working on my theory that there is a "tremendous upside" Forward ever year and normally they get drafted a lot lower than #2 overall.

Get out of here with that B.S! This is our game thread for Philly, we've moved on and I suggest you do the same. (You had a big lead and you blew it!)

Last I checked we are playing the Sixers tonight and it has nothing to do with the game a few days ago. So let's stay on track here.

Winning both of these games would be nice, but I'll take a split. The Sixers just win games, I don't know how they do it, but they have shown they can beat anyone.

We just need to play solid defense today and keep Andre Miller from going crazy.

I'd like to see JJ on Miller in the 4th quarter. I don't want to see Bibs chasing him around. And PLEASE Woody, no more Chillz covering the PG, it doesn't work.

Miller is actually one of the slowest pgs in the league...he's a good scorer but he relies more on strength/craftiness. Lou Williams is just the kind of guard that Bibby has trouble with.
