I would love to see the Hawks on TNT. I can't wait to see how our young guys handle being on national television. Bibby has always loved the playoffs and Joe had a great playoff run with Phoenix. (besides busting his eye up) Horford is also used to playing in the biggest games. I'm mainly curious about Smith and Marvin. Marvin played on the big stage in college, but that was a few years ago and he hasn't exactly impressed in the NBA.

I read on the Boston board that Bos-Atl will be the east coast primetime game on Saturday. I hate ESPN's coverage, but that would be some great exposure.

They also said Game 2 would be on Monday, and that would be on TNT. I'm looking forward to seeing what the TNT analysts say about us, all those guys are so knowledgeable.

I love watching Inside the NBA more than a lot of the games they schedule on there. I'm sure there will be a lot of jokes at the Hawks expense (at least Charles likes us), but it'll still be nice to hear them talking about us for once.

ESPN is blah. But a national game is a national game. I'll take it.

If we get Saturday Primetime we will probably get Breen/Van Gundy/Mark Jackson, they are one of the best teams on TV in my opinion. But yeah, other than that ESPN is awful.

All I ask for is that we don't have any games covered by NBA TV or Reggie Miller. Giving us the female color analyst(IDK her name but she's extremely boring)on ESPN would also be a huge slap in the face.

^ For some reason I like Doug Collins on TNT. He says good things about both teams every game. I hope we get him for atleast one. Though I think he mostly does WEST games, so we will prob be stuck with Reggie and him prob talking up the Celtics all game.

Doug Colllins is great...so is Hubie Brown. After hearing Kenny Smith(TNT analyst)call Joe Johnson Joe Smith about 30 times in 2 games....I'm pretty sure it's going to happen even more on a national broadcast. The Hawks have not had a nationally televised game in 5 years. There's a good chance that whoever is calling our games won't know **** about the Hawks unless it's somebody really good like Collins(who actually coached against the Hawks during their last national TV game),JVG,or Hubie.

I'm also sure we will hear that Marvin is the guy who we passed on Paul/Deron for. They will mention Horford winning back to back championships and that his father also played in the NBA. They will mention how Joe left a winning team for more money. I also bet that someone mentions how good a coaching job Mike Woodson has done this year.

^ And prob that Josh Smith is a free agent after the season, and could be a great 2nd guy for a team.

Man I hope we get Collins. lol.

This would be the ideal situation. Van Gundy has coached recently and probably still remembers the scouting reports vs the Hawks. Jackson does local games vs the Nets so he has seen the Hawks play recently and knows the players. Breen also does local games for the Knicks...him and Frazier also talk about how underrated Joe is and how much he plays/acts like Frazier did back in the day.

Yeah it would be the 8:00 p.m. game. That is just what I read on the Boston board though.

The early games this weekend will be at Detroit & Orlando and the late games will be at LA and Utah. I think the two 5:30 games will be at Cleveland and Boston...hopefully we get TNT if that's the case.

Return to Atlanta Hawks
