Warriors are my on again/off again 2nd team. They were my main team back in the mid-70s. Gus Williams, Rick Barry, Phil Smith, Clifford Ray, Keith Wilkes, Jeff Mullins were the truth. Sadly that team didn't stay together very long. I didn't have a main team until about 18 years ago when I adopted the Hawks. Except for the years between acquiring JR Rider and drafting Josh Smith, when I disowned the team (drafting Josh Smith brought me back to the fold, I bought season tickets a few days later). Warriors have become my 2nd team again because I love watching Monta Ellis. Outside of that I support teams with players from my favorite college team, but everyone takes a distant 2nd to the Hawks.

I love the Knicks. Watching the late 90's team was something special. That's how I fell in love with the NBA. I still like them so much, but I have a bunch of teams I like and some I can't stand.

The first game I ever saw live was the Suns vs the Hawks in 1986. The Larry Nance Suns.
I have been a diehard Suns fan since that night, but seeing as I am from Alabama, its not like I had that many opportunities to see them play. So I would watch the Hawks all the time and they became my favorite east coast team.
My uncle lived in Phoenix and would record every televised Suns game and send the tapes to me when the season was over and I would, no lie, spend the next few weeks watching 45-50 NBA games.
So I have been a Suns fan for about 22 years and a Hawks fan for around 20. Those are my teams, good times and bad(and I have definately seen both.)

1. Any team that is playing against Kobe Bryant, the most loathsome star in any sport that I can ever remember.
2. Phoenix Suns (Nash and Shaq).
3. New York Knicks (Been a huge fan of theirs for a while, mainly because John Starks was my favorite player back in the day).
4. Detroit Pistons ('Sheed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!).

This season I actually have enjoyed watching the Celtics play. KG has some legendary qualities to him.
In the west I like the Suns, I lived in Canada for 4 years and I guess all the Nash jocking rubbed off on me.
I used to really like the Pistons because most of my family is from Detroit but now they just annoy me. I liked the Spurs a lot too and Duncan will always be one of my favorite players but its annoying to watch them foul on every defensive possession and never get called for it.
... and like LL, I'll cheer for pretty much any team going against Kobe Bryant.

I grew up as a Bullets fan and I am living in Md now so i am following the Wizards pretty closely. They really blew that game yesterday.
I also generally root against teams like the Spurs who have been very successful for a long time. I just want to see new guys get a ring. I really wanted the Suns to win yesterday. Tim Duncan for 3 WTF.

That game made me want to throw up. Unbelievable. Shaq, Nash, and Amare have heart - they'll bounce back and win in 6 or 7.
